Staff here really know how to have fun while making some pretty solid pizza - you can tell they truly love what they do. The guy with the spikey hair does a mint supreme pizza! As for me? I loved them devouring it all! P s love the note left of the aus box 😂

Kat and her team have brought new life to the paynesville shops. Their food is exceptional and service is always friendly. Dealing with the public can sometimes be trying, just remember guys you cant please everyone all the time. There will always be those difficult ones, but we all love and appreciate you.

Best fish and chips this century. Chips cut and cooked on site,not frozen. Flake fresh court and from the boat, not frozen. Potato cakes made on site... not frozen.

The first time I had pizza there was 5-6 years ago and I remember that it was the most delicious seafood pizza I've ever had. When passing through Paynsville the other day, I was very excited to find that Ferry cafe was still open and ordered the same seafood pizza. Yet again, it did not disappoint, the pizza is still fabulous (if you are into tick pizzas I should say). My partner had the pepper steak pizza and it was outstanding! Literally the best pizza we've ever had!

I went there for the first time last night and had the best tastiest fish and chips I’ve ever had. I had the local gummy and it literally was a door stopper. It was so thick you had to open your mouth wide to eat it. Everything was light and perfectly cooked. So delicious. I would highly recommend it and the staff were friendly.

Well the pizza is just perfection and the Love fries were yummy.

I like a good piece of flake. I did the round in the town, ended up at the Ferry Cafe. Never missed once. Still going there. Keep up the good work. Thank you!

Okay so it’s a fish and chip shop- not a hatted gourmet experience, but we had two lamb souvlaki, pork ribs and fish and chips. All more than yum and served rapidly and with a smile despite being short staffed and frantic busy. Good stuff.

Friendly staff, wonderful food! Will definitely be back.

Best take away fish and chips in Paynesville

I need to go on a bit of a positive rant so buckle up!

I had the flu, I had no energy and no ability to walk to Paynesville and get myself a nice meal as cooking when you are unwell is awful, and so I knew other local take away shops make it very clear (rudely might I add) that they do not deliver to Raymond Island even if a ferry fee is included in the pricing upon me offering.
And so I took a chance on the Ferry Cafe and I was blown away, they do not normally deliver due to the round trip times etc and fees for the ferry to Raymond island, the owner I believe made it her personal mission to make sure I got my food when I was in dire straits, even after she made a trip and delivered incorrectly by complete accident because she was so busy, she still without thought after her shift ended recooked my food and correctly delivered my food outside of business hours, making sure I was happy and expecting me to be upset, which by reading other unkind/unfair reviews I understand why she would be so fearful, this woman went above and beyond just so I had a meal in my time of need and I believe that she and the establishment deserve a huge round of applause and pat on the back for making my night and helping me get better, I don't if I would have had a good night if she didn't make this happen for me.
So a million out of ten for this one and a shout out to the owner for her commitment to me.
All the fussy Karen's nay saying this establishment may want to rethink.

Great stop for lunch to feed quite a few hungry teens!!
The ferry cafe offers both a pizza and fish and chip menu which our families ordered from and we were pleasantly surprised. The chicken pizza had a great amount of topping and a crisp base while the fish and chips we’re also very much enjoyed. The staff were friendly helpful and patient while we tried to make up our minds. 🙂thank you! We will visit again!

Extremely well priced! I very rarely come across a well priced fish and chip shop. $26 was able to feed 5 adults! There’s large tables down the side of the store outside for you to sit on and some small seats out the front. The service was friendly and served us quite quickly even though it was a busy day. As for the food, it was really nice and the calamari was amazing!! Real calamari and crumbed.

Best fish and chips in Paynesville. Not many variety in the menu but sufficient for a lunch meal. Fish was crunchy outside and moist inside. Minimum chips could have been better in quantity.

Very nice fish and chips, would definitely eat here again when in town.

Very nice food and the staff are very friendly. My daughter wanted chicken parma which is not is the menu, but they still managed to make a beautiful parma.
