All signs lead to the suspicion that if Dr Garewal ripped his scrubs off he would be wearing a super man suit beneath. This is one amazing doctor. After many years of failed treatment and false hope from other Melbourne surgeries, Dr Garewal got me to exactly where I’ve hoped to be all these years. Every step of the journey was paced comfortably with a generous dusting of kindness and supportive honesty. If I could do it again, hopefully I never have to, I would call the Melbourne arm clinic with fingers so fast my phone might catch fire. Absolutely is this doctor worth every last cent, don’t waste your time with others - you won’t regret it! ❤

After being misdiagnosed for my shoulder damage and trying everything under the sun from physiotherapy to Cortizone injections, dry needling, cupping , Laser therapy acupuncture, and still being in pain I went to see Davinder and found out that I have a torn tendon. Davinder operated on my right shoulder in January 2023. He assured me that I will have full use of my arm within a year . After six months, all the pain was gone and within nine months, I got full strength back into my right arm. I am so grateful for his professionalism and found him extremely warm and friendly and Communicative . This January one year on to the date I’m going to have operation on both feet ( That’s another story🥺 ) and I’m hoping that my orthopaedic surgeon will be as good as the treatment I received from Davinder. I can’t thank you Enough for giving me my arm back . I would recommend you to anyone .

Absolutely amazing. Dr Garewal is so friendly, I felt so comfortable and at ease after talking to him about my surgery. I went in with a couple of issues, one being a tear on my supraspinatus, which ended up being the worst he's ever seen in someone my age, but he fixed everything up without an issue. My recovery has been better and faster than I expected. Couldn't be happier. Thank you again for all your amazing work.

He is such a wonderful and caring doctor. I had a total right shoulder replacement done nearly 2 years ago at age 45 and am about to go under again for my left. He really listens to you. Your not just another number like so many others. I will gladly recommend him to anyone.

After separating my AC joint I had surgery in July 2020. Devinder did an amazing job with the procedure. We made finals in footy this year and I played every single game.

At no point during any game or training session did I feel the need to protect the shoulder more than the other side. I never felt any pain and I basically forgot about the surgery every time I stepped on the field.

My strength levels are now well above what they were prior to the surgery and I have no issues with it on a daily basis.

Prior to meeting Mr Garewal, I was adamant I did not want shoulder surgery. After meeting my new surgeon, I had absolutely no doubt I had been referred to the best shoulder surgeon around. I left my first appointment feeling safe and assured. Devinder treated me as an equal, explained everything to me in a way I could easily understand and actually turned a somewhat stressful experience into a delightful memory. I saw Devinder for shoulder surgery 10 years after previous surgery to the same joint. Because of the previous very poor and painful experience with another Surgeon, I was genuinely dreading the days post surgery and the long rehabilitation.

But Devinder took great care and all the time required, in ensuring I had all the information pre and post surgery and I was well looked after. The outcome of the shoulder also couldn't be more different. My trepidation never materialised and my experience was the opposite of the first surgery. I can’t believe how easy the whole shoulder surgery process was. Devinder actually has a great personality which is often missing in specialists. He explained what was about to happen in a way that was easy to understand. Katie in the office was very helpful and Fiona, my Physio, is helping me to recover in a practical and personal manner. Great team! You can’t tell I have had surgery. There are no scars, just small slightly red marks. I can’t recommend Devinder enough. He is brilliant! I had two large tendon tears and five anchors were put in place. Surgery was Thursday and I was back at work the following Monday. I am extremely happy.

my husband had a simple fall at the beach on holidays and that was it , he ripped two tendons. on coming back to australia he was given the news that he would need surgery to recover. i googled the injury and the arm clinic popped up and after doing some reading called them and made an appointment immediately. When I was first diagnosed with advanced frozen shoulder, I felt like there was so much conflicting information out there on the right treatment pathway that it was difficult to know what was going to be right for me. The best thing I did was contact the Melbourne Arm Clinic using my doctor's referral to seek a consultation with Davinder Garewal.

Davinder's personal method of breaking down my symptoms in relation to the condition and what was going on from a physiological and medical perspective using a language and words that I could understand made the whole experience easy and much more accessible. It allowed me to make decisions about my treatment pathway in a way that was practical and geared towards ensuring that my frozen shoulder would be treated in such a manner that the condition does not flair again.

Davinder's empathy towards my condition, both its physical impacts and the chronic life-impacting pain associated with it, was genuine. My surgery (which was very thorough yet left practically no visible scarring) and post-recovery was made easy by the information I was provided both beforehand and afterwards, and I know that my personal physiotherapist is genuinely happy with the recovery plan Davinder's team put together. She's also been impressed that he keeps her informed of his documentation on my recovery post each visit to his office.

Davinder's team, from Kate his clinical assistant through to his theatre team including his anaesthetist and the day surgery tesm in the hospital, were all really lovely and fully focussed on my experience as their patient. I've had a lot of surgeries in my time and this was definitely one of the best experiences I've had. I was never merely a number in the machine.

Davinder's joy when I saw him for my 2-week and 8-week follow-up appointments, in terms of my movement and recovery, has been genuine and on my last appointment I walked out of his office full of confidence that I'm going to get full movement back within the timeframes he's advised me. I'm excited about my recovery and I know he has been too.

All I can say is how grateful that I was referred to Mr Garewal for a consultation .
I had 2 Shoulder tendon ruptures and on closer investigations more shoulder deterioration was noted
. I live in country Victoria and delighted that Mr Garewal visits this region

I had a dislocated shoulder from playing netball and was referred to Melbourne Arm Clinic. My experience at this clinic was very good with Devinder and the friendly staff. Devinder was professional and explained my injury and I have since had a very good result and recovery from my shoulder surgery. I would recommend Devinder and his team.

The referral by my GP to Dr Garewal was one of the best things to happen this year . For years I had suffered shoulder pain only to be told to rest with little respite . Dr Garewal diagnosed my pain and quickly answered any queries I had . Not only did I have complete faith in his ability as a specialist who subsequently operated an my shoulder successfully , he was also a really personable man with a group of lovely staff who were always available to answer any of my questions .
