The Horn African Cafe & Restaurant

Cannot believe I’ve been sleeping on this, fantastic Ethiopian food, very welcoming staff, and beautiful atmosphere. We got the banquet that came with the entree, main, and dessert, a couple beers each as well, and every dish tasted better than the next.

Will most definitely be going back for this amazing food and service again.

Highly recommend if you are into African cuisine. All the tibs are great and flavourful.

As a long time fan of The Black Jesus Experience, I only really came to see the band. That being said, I was blown away by the food and service. My bill came to around 60aud, which felt like a steal given I had 3 courses and a couple of imported beers (plus 90 minutes of live music). Only criticism I have is its too far away from me - wish I could go every week!

My favourite restaurant in Melbourne! Possibly the world. Absurdly good food by a master chef. I always choose the vegan options but have heard the meat is equally amazing. Have been many times - love it!

Amazing vibe and much larger than it looks from the outside. This was our first time here and we were really impressed. Lots of vegan options. The food is filling and extremely tasty. I recommend getting a sharing platter of some type so you can try several dishes. We will definitely be back.

We had the entree and main banquet meal. It was so delicious with a selection that hits most diets if you're eating with a mixed crowd ( our group had two meat eaters and two vegan/veggo people). Our server Alex was absolutely lovely and the French Martini I had was sweet and perfect.

A really laidback and relaxed atmosphere, attentive service, and incredible traditional food. Went on a Sunday night and got the added bonus of fantastic live Ethio-jazz. This is probably my favourite place to eat in Melbourne, and my endorsement is essentially a guarantee.

The food is soooo delicious and a great taste sensation for 1st timers (check with staff for spice levels) but as someone who loves spice but spice doesn't love me, there was plenty to choose from.
The jazz was also awesome Peter Harper, Bob Sedergreen & the other guys were soooo good.
Great place for the chilly night we went there. We were a table of 5, easy to talk and great food to share. Seriously, go there!!!

We ate here last night - very attentive and great service. Peter was front of house in this family run business. He was friendly and respectful, checking in on us. The food was amazing - we had the banquet option with 6 vegetarian dishes for 2. There was so much food we couldn’t fit dessert in. Other diners appeared to enjoy their dining experience too! I’ll be going back for sure!

The food was delicious. The staff were so friendly and courteous. And the band playing is the courtyard were brilliant. I highly recommend this restaurant/cafe for its great food and entertainment. I will be going there again and recommending it to friends.

The food took a little bit long to come out but it was worth the wait. Absolutely delicious vegetarian spread and reasonably priced. There was free live music as well. Left there with very full tummy and a smile on my face

Incredibly delicious food and great atmosphere. The team were lovely and talked us though the delicious bites and craft beers. I would recommend The Horn to anyone interested in a low key tasty meal with good company.

This place is unbelievable. I only hope you find your way here and enjoy the all the incredible flavours and dishes this place has to offer. We went two days in a row and were completely floored. Peter, the owner was gracious and it made our Melbourne experience.

SO GOOD! Was absolutely blown away by the food, service, music and overall vibe. I shared the Veggie Dahl Combo with a friend and we were both super happy and satisfied. Flavours were so balanced. Will be back and recommending to friends.

Absolutely loved this place. If I could give it a 10, I would. Best Ethiopian I've had in Melbourne, live jazz, and great hospitality! Must visit! And must return!!!
