The Wooli General

I’ve recently discovered this restaurant and I couldn’t be happier. Whoever is running the grill and making burgers deserves a firm handshake. Best chicken burger I’ve had to date hands down. I keep meaning to take a photo of the burger for a review but every time I get too excited and eat it. Chips are always cooked to perfection. I’ve had the fish once and it was delicious but the burgers are just too good to not get. Whatever you do please don’t change the recipe for the chicken salad burger. Also, very, very good pricing these days for what you get.

The Wooli Burger was one of the best 'The Lot' burgers from a fish and chip shop I've had. Chips are great.

We had a group of 12 and pulled some tables together outside and our food came very quickly.

Chips here are awesome 👌. Definitely a 9/10. Flake is fantastic, 8/10, potato cakes are a 7/10, would love to say the steak sandwich is 8/10. Would highly recommend steak sandwich if new to the area. Overall the place ranged from a 8/10 to 9/10. Pop down if ya in the area and looking for a place to eat. Highly recommended.

I wished the fish (fresh & tasty, crunchy batter) would never end, & ate more of the chips (perfect ratio of crunch & soft) than is strictly necessary. Excellent food, definitely recommended. Will return.

Sunday 17/12/23 11.20am SUPERB Fish and Chips. Had a Flatty Box for 2. Batters all different for fish, prawn and calamari. SENSATIONAL. Tongue-sensational. HIGHLY recommend. Thank YOU, Kristy and Chef Rob.

ordered two fish, the white and blue (both recommended), and were cooked to perfection, with crispy edges and tender flesh. The scallops were also fresh and perfectly seasoned.

also ordered a kids Fish 'N' Chips meal, which came with two small fish, as well as a generous amount of chips. Chips were fresh and tastes just right.

All in all, the service was excellent, the food was amazing, and the prices were very reasonable. Will definitely be coming back for more!

Super friendly staff who didn't seem to mind when I picked up our order 10mins past closing. I got the Asian wrap and it was AMAZING. I was asked by the guy serving me (maybe owner?) If I was the one who ordered it and that it's his favourite and I wouldn't be disappointed... HE WAS SPOT ON!!! Everyone else in my family really enjoyed their meal aswell! Thank you Wooli General, will definitely be back next time I'm in Cape Woolami or Phillip Island :D

The Wooli General is a quality local fish and chip joint. We came here for Sunday lunch and we’re served very quickly. There is minimal seating indoors, however they have several large tables outside and it is located a short walk from the beach. Would definitely come back for one of their excellent burgers!

Good quality food across the board at a price that seemed fairly reasonable. We had a large group and sat outside. The staff were all friendly as well. I'd come back here again next time we're in the area.

The best fish and chips I've had in a long time by far. We had a large group of 15, and they nailed the phone order. Crispy chips. Crispy batter on the flattys and grenadier, and not oily! All nicely seasoned, not too salty. Super soft fresh rolls on the fish burgers. Highly recommend.

BEST FISH AND CHIPS.
So I was told while I was working on the island that the Wolli general has the best fish and chips I thought that's a big call when the co op is over the water at San Remo. But when you get told off many island locals and even San Remo locals you give it a try woow what awesome fish and chips and great family feel customers service.

Fish and chips are the best I have tasted. To assuage any guilt, you can accompany them with a fresh salad and a lovely walk. Coffee is good too. Opening times vary according to seasons and peak holiday times. Best to phone ahead or check website.

Incredible service, we ordered for 20 people split between 5 names and they were incredibly quick and organised. Very smooth service and delicious food!

What is better than fish and chips on the beach? That's right, nothing! A load of battered and salty goodness while lapping up the waves was the best. Even random kids came up for a bite when our store caught meal slapped them in the nose. Even the fresh, shore caught squid couldn't get an eye when this feast was around. Which surprised us all!

Oh my god……..I can’t tell you how good these fish and chips are!!!!
Some of the best F&Cs I’ve ever had, with a sneaky beverage while I waited. What more can you ask for?

Great food and friendly service. I was informed by several people that their fish and chips are the best on the Island. I must say their chips were amazing! The fish was a generous serve with a thin crispy batter. DELICIOUS 🌞

Love the vibe love the food. We did get caught out on the kitchen closing sooner than advertised 1 evening so the Wooli team should assess that but everything else absolutely brilliant. Get amongst the pork wraps! I was in the street for a week and felt like a local every time I entered the store! Keep up the great work team.
