The prawn pesto chilli pasta was beautiful - prawns cooked well, pasta Al dente, flavours were balanced. The sausage roll was delicious - meat filling was tasty and the pastry was golden and flaky. The chicken prosciutto salad was so well balanced in textures and flavours.
The man who served us is so lovely!!

First timers. Trying different foods than we normally would. Beautiful scenery and lovely, friendly service. Would recommend anyone travelling home or away to detour off Princes Hwy for a well worth break.

A rustic cafe on the lake with very friendly staff. The weather was beautiful for sitting on the deck. I had the Chicken and Prosciutto Salad which was light and fresh.

A favourite for sure. Great service, relaxing atmosphere, gorgeous views of the lake and delicious food. Perfect menu! I will be back!

This place has to be one of the best places I’ve eaten since I’ve been staying in Australia! I’m from America and have come to live here since September and while I still haven’t tried TOO many places aside from local cafes, this one really surprised me!

First, I want to point out how upon my arrival I was already intrigued by the location seeming quite isolated which I don’t mind but it had me curious as to what I was in for. Walking in, I was pleased just alone with the style of the cafe and of course the beautiful view outside! The woman that greeted us was lovely and asked where we’d like to sit. We would’ve eaten outside but there were many flies out which obviously can’t be controlled. No drama there.
Before ordering I was still a bit skeptical by the menu size but this is mostly due to my being unfamiliar with certain dishes in Australia. A taller man, than myself, at least took our order and was very friendly! I thought to order a burger at first but figured I can get that anywhere so I opted to try the prawn, pesto and chili pasta thinking it sounded different. STILL skeptical with my decision, thinking it may be an outlier of an order that people probably neglect I sat and the shakes we’d ordered came which were fantastic. I really wanted coffee but it was after breakfast and didn’t reckon it would go well with my food.
Finally our food came and it looked AMAZING. The one thing I’d say I was a bit let down by was the portion size but maybe I was just starving and needed more. Every ingredient was tasty on its own. The tomatoes, prawns and noodles of course with the pesto/chili. WOW!
Our little one ordered a kids burger and of course she’s a bit picky so didn’t eat more than half so I took the other half of the patty and ate it with my pasta. I quickly realized I would’ve been very happy to have ordered a burger as well because the patty alone was so fresh and full of flavor!
If you can’t tell by this excessively detailed review, this is a place I will remember and will definitely anticipate coming back to! If I could give it 6 stars out of 5 I would!

Excellent coffee, delicious treats, and a great range of meal choices make Lake Edge one of my go-to places.
The service is efficient and cheerful, and the view is gorgeous.

Absolutely amazing, the food was delicious and very well presented, the staff are so nice and welcoming it's great. The building use to be a school in Heywood they moved it out to this beautiful spot over looking the lake. Even though it was a rainy day I could sit in there and read a book all day and in summer it would be even better well done girls. A++++

Beautiful spot on the lake shore, always great service. We had the ploughmans lunch and everything on the plate was delicious. Highly recommend for a nice meal in a beautiful location.

Was very impressed by the food and ambience here. This is a very beautiful and cosy cafe by lake side.

I had the South Devon Burger which comes with bacon, eggs, cheese, a thick beef patty and a very delicious side salad.

My friend had the Moroccan Lamb Flatbread which was also very delicious.

Do come early or call to reserve as its very busy even on off-peak hours.

In the middle of nowhere and oh so peaceful. A perfect spot just off the highway for a stop with the kids. High chairs & plenty of change space available for little ones. The lovely ladies put together a special 'snack plate' for my 2 kids as they're not big eaters - fruit, breads, cheeses. It was perfect, healthy & fresh. Lots of room for them to stretch your legs outside. The grown ups had a ploughmans plate and a burger, all yummy & fresh. Beer, wine, coffee & milkshakes all good.

Wow...How busy was the Place... Worth the drive....
Love the Food... they were not as talkative NS friendly as there were the last few times understandably because they were Run off their feet.

Great place. Nice breeze with beautiful sunny day and breakfast with ingredients so fresh, I couldn't forget. Country Cafe with excellent location and very friendly staff. If you around Camperdown, must visit.

We had a lovely light lunch at the Lake Edge Cafe. The staff were very approachable and friendly, and sorted us out with an outdoor heater and a set of blankets, which meant we were drinking coffee and overlooking the lake - despite the freezing conditions! The view was stunning; the perfect place to spend a wet Sunday afternoon.

My parent in-laws took me here for a birthday lunch. This place is just super cosy with such a great view of the lake. The menu is very enticing and the meals were delicious and well presented. The service was very welcoming! I will be coming back for sure! Thanks guys! 😍

Food was absolutely delicious: Vietnamese beef was full of flavour and the chicken, Parma ham and pear salad was a delight with caramelized walnuts, blueberries and blue cheese. The staff were very friendly. The views of the lake are also wonderful. There is seating indoors and out.

Another great meal always friendly and helpful staff. Wheelchair accessible. Inside and outside seating even supply blankets for knees if bit chilly. Right on edge of lake.

My fiancée and I stopped here seeking a vegan meal in the middle of a long drive to Warrnambool. I was blown away by the friendly and accommodating service! They gave us a pumpkin soup without cheese and it was quite fantastic. I would definitely stop here again if we're ever passing through the area.

To make matters even more spectacular, the view of the lake is simply wonderful. We really enjoyed this stop! Thank you so much for having us and being such wonderful people. We hope we can see you again!
