We came in on a Friday night without a booking and were fortunate to get the last table. The atmosphere is warm and pretty. Our waiter Martin was faultless. So professional. The food was great. Loved the bread entree and the mushrooms. The flavours mesh well in all the dishes. They are all unique as well. The tabouli was perfect. Lamb shoulder was really enjoyable. The beef dumplings were really different I had never had them at any other Turkish restaurant. The owner/chef was chatting to people. Really good experience. Def check it out.

We went here with reservations (a year ago) as it’s a fine dining restaurant and best not to get disappointed when you can’t dine in.

We were promptly guided to our seat & respectfully seated.

Ambience: Dimlit, narrow but beautiful and serene. With not much space, it can feel crowded and a but loud. Thankfully we got a corner seat a bit away from the louder groups.

Food: Beautifully presented and you definitely eat with your eyes first. It definitely caters to the 5 senses and is very whimsical and beautiful. The taste is amazing too.

Service: Our food was spaced out in a timely manner and we were always asked of we were ready for the next. Our table was also promptly cleared off all the empty dishes to make room for the next serve. The servers always had a smile on their face.

I would love to go here again.

Yum yum and YUMMMM! I loved all the dishes we ordered, the truffle borek was the absolute highlight of the night. Great ambience, lovely staff and menu is decently priced. I liked that they had a nice selection of turkish wines too!

I didn't know what to expect as Turkish food is not my usual "go-to", but this was an unexpected and, sincerely, mind-blowing surprise. My wife and I got a 6-course meal that was impressive not just for the taste, but also presentation and harmonization.

The Turkish cocktails were also deliciously balanced.

Highly recommend if you'd like to have a unique gastronomic experience in Melbourne!

Despite ordering an extensive variety, every dish surpassed expectations. The richness of the meal was balanced by the flavors, making each bite super delicious!. As someone not initially a fan of Turkish cuisine and wine, this place pleasantly surprised me, leaving a lasting impression. Can't wait to return

Excellent food and service, location is great too next to public transport. Ambience is on point. I had the braised lamb shoulder and hubby had barramundi. The smoked eggplant is divine. Also got the Turkish beef dumplings and the salad (personally found the cumin dressing too overpowering, just being picky) but altogether it was filling and satisfying.

Good cocktails 🍸🍹 and a sumptuous set menu 🍽 for under $100. We went with the smaller 6 course menu but it still had plenty of food for everyone.

Really enjoyed the Mezzes 🍞, Sardalya dolma (sardines 🐟), Icli Kofti 🐑, Kuzu and the Kahve.

The only dish we were disappointed about was the Fava 🫛

Wished they were more attentive about more drinks and filling up the water.

100% worth a try if you want to have modern Middle eastern cuisine.

Looking for a date night locally? Head to Tulum! I haven’t been exposed to a lot of Turkish food but I was so surprised at how tasty and creative Tulum made their cuisines. The atmosphere is cosy and chic and the staff provide such excellent service. Definitely coming back!

Absolutely delicious!

We had a selection of the menu and loved every bite.

The ambience of the place was beautiful and the perfect place for our anniversary.

The menu is extensive with a modern touch on traditional Turkish recipes.

Options are the 7 course share or 6 course meals at reasonable prices for the volume and quantity. There’s a large drinks selection inclusive of Turkish and Australian wines and an extensive non alcoholic selection too.

We couldn’t get in the two desert offerings inclusive of the chicken desert which sounds to be interesting and we are going to return to.

Our favourites being the Borak and the octopus dishes, being diamonds amongst the gold dishes we were served.

Thanks to the great team there for a wonderful evening and we will most definitely be back for more!

Very fancy Turkish cuisine! Loved it! We started with cinnamon whiskey and ordered the Börek and Sardines for entrees. For mains we got the lamb shoulder and chicken. We finished off with baklava and Turkish coffee with a few goodies! Thoroughly enjoyed it! 🙏

Read some good reviews, seen some delicious photos on their Instagram and the food really met the expectations. Every mouthful was delicious, portions are just right. They also have a great selection of cocktails that were unique and scrumptious. Definitely would come back to try the other dishes. The atmosphere was cozy (perfect), however thought the space was a little cramp and awkward for movements. Service stills needs a little prefecting but all in all a great experience and worth the try!

Looking for an amazing food journey through different regions in Turkey? Tulum provides two degustation options! The 7 course is what we chose... the flavours were amazing and portions perfect. The knowledge and friendliness of staff enhanced our experience as did the ambience of the venue.
This was my 2nd time here and I'll definitely be back

Absolutely delicious food, however in my opinion there was limited options for the main course. Hospitality was perfect 👌.
Totally will come back

We had the $110 set course menu, which was exceptional. Plenty of food, interesting and beautifully presented dishes and well-spaced out. Restaurant fit-out is perfect and cosy and acoustics are good so you don't find yourself shouting across the table. Excellent cocktail list too. Was a fabulous night!

Couldn't fault this place. Dinner was absolutely sublime! We had the set menu and was literally full and still had food envy from all the food coming to the other tables. Very flavourful and dishes were sized well.

Service was good too. Everyone was very attentive and accommodating.

Would absolutely go back

What a gem of a restaurant.
A perfect marriage between food , service and drinks providing the diner with an exquisite experience.

Humble and obviously incredibly talented , Coskun has an ability to pair the most unusual flavours.

The chicken dessert was my favourite.

We will definitely return. I especially look forward to the cocktails from the new bar manager. Another incredibly talented individual.

My golly. Maybe the best food I’ve had in my life? Certainly the new benchmark. Every mouthful through the evening was one to savour. The space is nice, but they are certainly making the most a very narrow block.
You might have a fear for small serving sizes at finer dining, I did, but Tulum gives me faith. Everything was portioned appropriate or generously for the flavours it packed and the purpose it served. For the selection of Mezze we got, along with the huge main, I can’t see how the set menu can offer the same value. Maybe if you’re in a larger group that makes sharing harder?
The red lentil koftas were insane, the borek was perfect?, the peas might have been even better. I gotta say the leek and orange foam was not pretty, but like everything else it was clearly so well thought out and the puffed rice packed an unbelievable amount of flavour. I don’t think you could go wrong with any item on the menu. I would have loved to try the desserts and the chocolate Turkish delight that accompanied the couscous but there was no just no room. I guess I’ll have to visit again.

We finally got a chance to try @tulumrestaurant and this restaurant serves amazing modern Turkish cuisine 😍

We tried: 7-course degustation menu (thanks to @theforkau, we received 50% discount on our reservation of their website)

Some of the highlights were:
The bread and date butter which we really like a lot 😋 - the date butter was brilliant - it was super smooth… and the sweetness from date really comes through.

Spiced Lamb Semolina Kibbeh was also very very tasty, even though I am not a big lamb eater, I enjoyed this dish through and through - the flavour was spot on and left me wanting for me. The restaurant also catered for Ony as she doesn’t eat lamb - the replacement dish, Vegetarian Stuffed Eggplant with Tomato & Onion in Spiced Olive oil, was very tasty too and she didn’t feel like missing out.

Lastly, the dessert - the chicken and milk pudding dessert which was showcased on @masterchefau season 12 last year. Some might find it weird but we truly enjoyed this dessert, we love the playful take of savoury notes into the sweet dessert, very creative.

Overall, the food here at Tulum was exceptional and the price we paid for the degustation was so worth it and represents a good value. While we are not too familiar with Turkish food, we can say that every meal through this 7-course offering took us to experience different textures and flavors of Turkish cuisine.

We tried the Taste of Tulum set menu and thought the food was delicious and varied. Our favourites were the smoked date butter starter and the lamb pie. I was excited about the chicken dessert but the other dishes outshine it; or perhaps by the 7th dish we were stuffed / more critical! The price of the degustation menu was worth it. Combined with the cosy interior and excellent service it was a night well spent.

We had Tulum on our must visit list and we finally got there last night. The food is sublime. Every dish we ordered had so many flavours and textures going on. As passionate foodies, we loved every mouthful and will definitely return to sample some more of the fascinating menu. Highlight for me was the egg with yogurt, chicken skin and burnt butter. Husband couldn’t go past the kibbeh and the beef short ribs. The space is lovely with warm welcoming lighting. Staff were friendly and very helpful explaining every dish in detail. Highly recommended. 😋
