Wow. This beach is one of the best I've seen on my travels around Australia. So mesmerising and amazing to look at/hear.

I walked from the blowholes and Petrified Forest to the Seal Colony. Unfortunately I didn’t see any seals but saw lots of kangaroos and wallabies. Fantastic walk and I highly recommend. My husband isn’t a walker so he drove and waited for me at the entrance to the Seal Colony carpark. Took me just over 2 hours and the views are spectacular.

So many seals! The walk to the seal colonies was also a beautiful walk. We saw 2 echidnas, 3 kangaroos, a big brown snake (be careful and wear boots with ankle coverage), tonnes of different birds and hundreds of seals! We are pretty sure we heard a wombat moving around as well.

Stuff you should know about the seal colony:

1. You can't acces it with car, there is a parking place at the end of the beach and you can leave your car there and start your walking path to the seal viewing point that is on top of the hill.

2. When you walk up to the seal colony viewing point it's really a beautiful path that is totally worth It! I can't stress that enough how beautiful it is. It will probably take you and hour or hour and a half in one way but on the way down it goes much faster but be prepared with drinks and food.

3. At the top viewing point you can see the seals playing and swimming on the beach. Binoculars are very useful here. You also might see a lot of cangoroos!

I really recoomend this trip by foot!

had a mid blowing experience with the seal colony boat tour - there are now a huge number of seals and cubs - they have fully recovered from population collapse in the 70's

It is a very Long walk we only went to the first spot to see them ‘ we used binoculars and could see them swimming around ‘ to get to the colony it’s a at least 2 hour return walk which is difficult.i would suggest a early morning to start

Longer walk than i bargained for. But i guess it was worth it. To see them swim. was fun to watch although they are a bit far down from viewing platforms.

Had to be careful not to step on one!! These pups were lazing around in the sun, squabbling over the best rocks.

The walk is extremely windy so be prepared. In summer it is also possible to swim with the seals.

Walk there is one of the best ive ever done, full of amazing scenic views. It was very soothing to watch the seals go about their lives from the platform above and then sit on one of the benches atop the mountain and watching the waves go by. A 30 to 40 min walk to the platform was well worth it and I'd do it again if given a chance.

Experience of a life time. The ride to the rocks was white knuckle fun in 2.5m swells. Witnessing the seals in their natural environment was priceless. Our guide was capable, friendly and knowledgeable. I cannot recommend highly enough. Travelled with kids 6, 9 and 12.

If your lucky like us there maybe pup seals at the jetty ! So many and so quiet. Otherwise it's a fairly big walk to the viewing platforms on the cliffs, which are a fair distance from the action below.

Breathtaking walk. Absolutely stunning views of both the ocean and the lush hills. The seals are there but you’ll probably want to bring binoculars or a tele lens camera to get a good view of them.

It's a bit of a hike, but the seals are lively and the views are spectacular. Highly recommended!
