Cape Bridgewater is a gem of a town and a visit to the blow hole lookout and the petrified forest is worth the drive.
It is a great display of a petrified forest even with all the years of erosion. It is well protected and great paths to walk along.
The coastline is amazing and during our visit we spotted a playful seal just off the coast.
The walk is only about 500m and there is a car park that leads to the locations.

Amazing structures! You try to figure out what could be their origin, beside petrified wood, and feel surprised by the current scientific explanation. Still some open questions remain...

such an underrated place, if you're on a great ocean road roadtrip, please come to this place even though it's kinda far, however it's a lovely drive here, with windmills in sight.

but yes, it's a breathtaking place. amazing limestone formations. large windmills. amazing ocean view.

also, there's no crowd here. i love it!!

An absolutely amazing place to visit the wind turbines are awe inspiring as you drive up then the rocky formations and cliff areas are just surreal and the blowholes area is just really beautiful watching the waves crashing. I was lucky in a way when I was there there were some whales in the distance spurting water that was all we got to see but still an amazing experience wasn't expecting to see them so it was a really nice surprize. Ended up being a spectacular day.

A really nice walk, and be sure to combine this with the blowholes walk loop too. Amazing scenery really great contrasts with the ocean blue and the rocky terrain. The petrified forest at the end is quite interesting, and well worth a visit. Very little (to no) shade on a hot summers day. Walk takes about 20-30 minutes return, when combined with the blowholes walk too.

A good look to the rock is quite interesting, showing the uniqueness of this place. Appreciate the conservation efforts of the local volunteers. Thanks.

Absolutely amazing place, you get the feeling that you travelled to another planet. For me for some reason it came as Star Wars scenes. Easy walk from the car park, but proper shoes will come highly recommended as stones are sharp on the walk.

Absolutely worth while to go visit, Blowhole is also worth seeing as long as tide is up. You won't be disappointed

Really interesting to see. Have your walking shoes on as it also shares the Blowhole & Seal Rock walk. Good to learn it’s not a Petrified Forrest at all..

Petrified Forest and Blowholes are easily reached from the car park about 10 minutes walk. On the way to the car park you'll pass 29 windmills. There are views of the steep cliffs and waves crashing below, superb place with amazing view for a walk. As per history, The petrified forest was formed when the forest of Moonah trees was smothered by a large sand dune. Water seeping through the sand formed a crust of sandstone on the outside of the trunks, decaying the organic matter, leaving behind petrified trunks.

A must see when in the area. Although it’s not really a petrified Forrest like they say, it’s definitely worth a look as the formations are very unusual. Not too far to walk from car park and close to blowhole & seals if wanting to walk further.

What spectacular views of the ocean, the wave crashing, the sounds, and the amazing rocky formations created by millions of years of rainfall, it's truly a sight to see with your own eyes. It's worth the stop & not the only attraction to see while your here.

A step way, way back in time. Such an interesting area - Cape Bridgewater and the scenic drive. The petrified forest is pretty much in its natural state. It is close to the rugged cliffs so take care if you have young children with you. I don’t think it is suitable for anyone who is not able to walk unassisted. You can see the wind turbines from the wind farm from here.

Alien vibe with a certain sense that something hasn't been right for at least 20 years. An excellent place to be geologically confused about the ancient rocks, at least 20 years ago they were formed.

Better than expected. There is a nice little walk, and the forest evolution is impressive, one of the kind.
