Tracey from Kool Art Clay is fabulous, the best teacher when it comes to all things ceramics and being creative. I've been taught by Tracey in Castlemaine and in her fabulous studio Kool Clay Art in Maldon since the beginning of 2023. I'd always wanted to learn ceramic, so at 53, and with zero experience, I started lessons every week with Tracey.
I've come a long way from my first coil and pinch pot with the help of Tracey. She is very patient, knowledgeable and enthusiastic regarding the different, and often strange, ideas I want to make such as a pumpkin chandelier, clay and glass frogs bowl, a large bird baths made of 50 individual pieces, leaf wind chimes, toadstool sculpture and lizard tunnels.
Kool Clay Studio is definitely a fun, friendly and inspiring environment to be creative. The studio is set up with everything I need to work like slab rollers, slip molds, different Earthenware and Stoneware clays, handbuilding and wheel throwing equipment, glazes, underglazes, stains, oxides, and even a spray booth. The studio has a gas and electric kilm so our work is carefully and professionally fired on site. Tracey has over 30 years experience firing ceramics so our work always comes out looking amazing, and most importantly, in one piece.
I've made wonderful friends through Tracey's classe and really look forward to enjoying a laugh and a chat as we work on our latest clay creations. If you want to try ceramics or want to get back into it then I'd definitely recommend coming to Kool Clay Art Studio. It's the best 'Me Time' I have all week.

Unfortunately had a terrible experience. Work was damaged without apology. Over charged and not worth the money. Disappointing.
