Songbird Cafe & Larder

Located in the heart of Kinglake, this beautiful café offers a diverse menu. The service was wonderful👏...the staff are all professional, caring and attentive. The food we chose - Chicken, mango, avocado & cous cous salad / Steak sandwich/ kiddies tenders with chips...were all prepared to perfection and tasted super yummy. The flavours were well combined. The atmosphere was rustic but relaxing! Highly recommend 👌

Service was friendly from lovely staff, chef took time to speak with customers and good range of dishes/options.

Lovely open fire. Relaxed friendly vibe. Nice and warm inside on a cold day. Plenty of outdoor seating too with heat lamps also.
Nice broad menu with different options as well as some bakery goods also including yummy cakes and muffins.
Hot chocolate was tasty with option of flavours and dark vegan hot chocolate.
Price slightly on the higher side for a cafe but well worth the visit.
Only downside is they don't book tables at weekends although when I arrived there was one table reserved so inconsistency there.

Such a delicious lunch, super friendly and caring staffs, the dessert 🍮 is the best I’ve tried!

Wow what a gem this was. And we can't wait to get back. The food was amazing and everyone had delicious meals. With an open fire going in the corner this was the most inviting breakfast I'd had in a long time.
Everything looks so fresh that we took our time and shared a slice of cake with our 5 year old who loved his choices of meals and snacks. Thank you to the staff as well who were friendly, engaging and full of smiles. Just a pleasure.

I go to this gem of a cafe every month for lunch, and sometimes more in between these regular lunches. The staff are friendly, professional and helpful. The food - I have such trouble deciding what to have. Their specials are varied and so tempting, the set menu caters for all tastes. The cakes/desserts are unrivalled.
As you can tell, it is one of my favourite places. Luckily I live close by. For anyone from out of town it is seriously worth the visit.

On a cold and drizzly autumn Saturday, we found ourselves looking for somewhere to warm up in between events. We had an hour and a half before we could set up florals in Cottlesbrige. Venturing into the café we were greeted warmly and seated, instantly we felt like a couple of locals . Service was quick and effortless and absolutely delicious. I ordered the smash avo with a side of bacon, and the apprentice (husband) had the breakfast burger. Coffee was amazing and I urge anyone out this way to stop in.

Staff are genuinely friendly and the food & beverage are faultless. I had a satay chicken and I thought the chef is Asian. The cakes are to die for. Nothing can beat your food served with a smile.

We stopped in here on our way back to Melbourne after a weekend in the Yarra Valley and it’s the perfect weekend brunch spot! We had the granola and chilli scramble and coffees. Everything was honest, wholesome food. Only feedback would be to hold off on the icing sugar on the granola. The service is wonderful, and there is ample outdoor seating if you are bringing your furry friend.

Just off the chart for food and service! After trampling the ranges for a few hours on a hunt for a feed we found this beaut! Service off the chart food the same! So welcomed in a way most most of our top end restaurants could not compete with! Guys just next time warm me about saving space for those cheesecakes 😂😂😂😂😂 10 star from us!

Staff are lovely. The outdoor seating area is spacious; I love the big bench seat tables, plenty of shade. Food, drink and service is great. Perfect pit stop on a long 🚲 ride.

Beautiful staff, lovely and reasonably priced food and very well made coffee and hot chocolate. We were camping in the area and had a wonderful experience here. A warm and homely vibe, definitely worth a visit!
