Desi Dhaba Tarneit

We have tried many Indian restaurants, so far Desi Dhaba Tarneit is certainly one of the best. We are a repeat customer and never have been let down. Superb food, taste, quality service. Certainly five stars.

Recently, I had the privilege of dining at an Indian restaurant. The culinary experience was exceptional, with authentic and delectable flavors. The overall gustatory experience was remarkable, and I highly recommend this establishment for its outstanding taste.

The portion sizes were generous relative to the pricing, and the chicken dishes, particularly the chicken tikka and tandoori chicken, were exceptionally succulent and flavorful.

The staff demonstrated commendable courtesy and friendliness, and the food was served with commendable alacrity.

It is an excellent option for great quality Indian food at a budget friendly price. We visited this restaurant as some of the friends had suggested and we loved the desi ambiance and mainly the food. We ordered both veg and nonveg(chicken) thali, which came with roti and rice.
Among veg, Paneer Makhani was a clear winner. The paneer just melted in the mouth, and the taste was top-notch, whereas Punjabi Chicken was by far the juiciest and tender chicken dipped in aromatic indian gravy. Both Paneer and Chicken were in great quantity, making the curry worth every penny. It really helps if they can give extra curry for rice, although we got it on request and with an extra chicken piece with it(this was unexpected).
Among all our orders, we didn't like the Goan Vindaloo specifically Paneer Vindaloo..it's way too tangy since it comes with Vinegar and better to avoid this if you don't want your meal to be too tangy. However, Chicken Vindaloo was manageable. The staff were thoroughly professional and very humble, not only did they apologize for our experience with Vindaloo(for no fault of theirs) but they also went an extra mile by giving us Gulab Jamoons and few pan kulfis as a complimentary, such a lovely gesture.
We will definitely visit again and probably try more dishes here. The epic Paneer makhni is a MUST TRY.

Amazing food, service and atmosphere. Would highly recommend Indo-Chinese, Chilli garlic goat curry, Tandoori plate/platter, seekh kebab, goat masala and garlic naan. Only one recommendation to the management would be to stock Old Monk rum because that would amplify the experience ten folds. If I had to sum up the whole experience in one word that would be Laajawab.

Finally, we can say the best Indian Punjabi food you'll ever get in Melbourne is this one. There's nothing that you could complain about this one.

The best part was, We went there without booking on Mother’s Day, and they told us to wait just 10 minutes and table was ready. I loved Desi Dhaba and their food.
Food was so yummy. my family went there first time, and they loved everything about their restaurant.

We went there for fathers day. The place was fully packed. Still the manager GK accommodated us!!! The food was awesome as usual. We had malai chicken, highly recommended, butter chicken, shahi paneer and saag. The highlight was definitely saag, it was really pure sarso(mustard) taste unlike a lot of places which go heavy on palak(spinach). Amazing staff, even though it was a packed evening they did their best!!! Thank you GK

I have been to this place so many times but never got a chance to write a review.
The best thing about this place is that it’s open till late.
Staff is lovely and welcoming. They have two managers, seems like the new manager has joined recently. Both managers are really nice and accomodating. Service is good too.
Coming on to the food, their chilli paneer is amazing. Dal makhani is my all time favourite.
It’s a kids friendly restaurant.
The pictures on the walls are totally Bollywood, gives pure Desi vibes.
They have seating outside as well. Heaters are installed alongside each table. The outside seating is quiet vibrant.
They also make in house kulfi, pista, paan and mango. Other than that they have kulfis from Desi Kothi too.
The new manager will specially come to your table and ask you about the food and service. Great effort!

Food always the best . Only thing we dont like in any desidhaba restaurant is the kind of video songs u play in the TV. we come as a family, videos which u play cant be watched by kids. Videos played in restaurant TV are not family friendly . Pls look into that .

We came from chef family, and We don't like the taste of restaurant food so soon. But this restaurant served us with delicious food and service. Every single dish we ordered was so nice and presentable. We recommend everyone to come to Desi Dhaba and must try there food (specially Goat Masala and Desi kukkad with plain Rice).

The food at this restaurant is absolutely delicious! Each dish is bursting with flavor and is expertly prepared. The ingredients are high quality and the presentation is visually appealing.Overall, a must-visit restaurant for any food lover.

Pleasantly surprised. Loved it the first time and we keep coming back. Food is yummy and was very fresh and flavorful. We could tell it was just made for us … servers are very polite...One of the best Indian restaurant in town!! Go for it...

We opted for a Sunday lunch, limited in choices as many restaurants around only open in the evening at 5 pm. Despite this constraint, the restaurant never fails to impress us with the quality and freshness of their food. Their naans, in particular, are always freshly made and delightful. Although the service was a bit delayed due to their busyness, the food more than made up for it with its exceptional taste.

Came to rate them, realised that i have already given them 5 stars. Would add on a bit more.
