I walked in one month before my wedding- after being rejected by every other bridal store (understandably), but Bernadette greeted me with a big smile and said she had a cancellation and can help me find a dress! I tried on three dresses and loved them all but the last one was my favourite. The process from there was quick, efficient and the end result was in my opinion perfection. I had the honour of wearing one of Bernadette’s beautiful bridal gowns on my wedding day and I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. I purchased the dress off the rack and had custom sleeves added. They made the entire process so easy and were incredibly warm, kind and professional. I’m a bridal makeup artist and have heard so many horror stories of other bridal dress shops so as soon as I met Bernadette and her daughter, I knew that this was the business I wanted to support. You don’t have to place a deposit down to try on dresses and everything was done in house which means you don’t need to take it elsewhere to get altered. Most importantly, I never once felt judged and they went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable during every fitting.

Just under 2 weeks ago I found Bernadette and she worked some miracles to make my beautiful wedding dress.

I was having problems with my original dress and alterer and with only 5 days before my wedding I had to find a new dress. When I first met with Bernadette and one of the girls that worked there, I was very impressed with their customer service. They were incredibly friendly and lovely and went above and beyond to make the dress of my dreams within such a short time. Bernadette was very reassuring and the stress I had about my wedding dress was gone from the moment I decided to have my dress made by her.

She started my dress on the Friday and it was finished and ready for me to pick up the next Tuesday morning and it was absolutely gorgeous and made me feel amazing on my wedding day.

While it was made very quickly, she is incredibly skilled and made sure that the dress fit me perfectly and the details were expertly made.

I highly recommend her, she's been making couture and custom dresses for I believe 38 years and if you are ever in a situation like I was you can rest assured that she will take care of everything. But even if you're not in a situation like mine I highly recommend her as I'm convinced she can make anything.

I had the pleasure of working with Bernadette, and I must say that she is truly an exceptional seamstress. Her approach is considerate and meticulous in every way. She takes great care to ensure that she aligns with your vision and needs, leaving no detail unattended. Throughout the process, she constantly checks in to make sure that your expectations are not just met, but exceeded.

Thank you for making my dream wedding dress Bernadette! I reached out to Bernadette approx. 8 months before my wedding. I had exhausted ALL of the bridal shops in Melbourne and I just couldn't find the perfect gown. I wasn't even being picky... everything off the rack just suited stick skinny 6 foot individuals.
I met with Bernadette's daughter (whilst Bernadettte was overseas) to try on some sample gowns and fell in love with a bodice on one and the skirt of another. I was not pressured at all to make any decisions that day and returned with my mum to try them on again with Bernadette this time. She provided invaluable advice and tactfully recommended things to improve the gown for my body shape. We discussed different fabrics (that Bernadette sources herself for you) and how much that would alter the price for each type. She definitely listened to me and my budget when making recomendations.
When I said yes to the dress I had a further 4-5 fittings to make sure the dress was perfect. The pattern was made directly from my measurements and no fabric was cut until both Bernadette and I were 100% happy.
I felt extremely comfortable on my day and I absolutely loved the dress. The whole experience in itself, to see what goes on behind the scenes was so much fun!
The quote you get was everything inclusive, no added ons for alteration or hidden costs. I paid just over $5000 (plus $450 for veil at last minute) and it was worth every penny for a one of a kind dress!! Highly recommend Bernadette, you are in safe hands!

As someone who hates dressing up, hates being centre of attention and is stressfully fussy, wedding dress shopping was not a fun time for me. It wasn’t until I put on one of Bernadette’s dresses that I felt it was possible to find something that I could picture myself wearing. Even then, I told Bernadette I like the top of one dress, bottom of another dress and the material of a third, to which she replied ‘of course’!

You can’t possibly doubt her talent and knowledge, so I had complete confidence in her and valued her guidance. And she delivered! The dress was exactly what I had envisioned! It was of high quality, simple but elegant, unbelievably comfortable and did not interfere with dancing the night away! So very grateful to Bernadette and her team and can’t recommend more highly.

Recently had a mother of the bride dress designed and created by the lovely team at Bernadette Pimenta Couture. Bernadette herself was present at every fitting, was professional and accommodated all our requests. On the final fitting, some adjustments needed to be made which Bernadette happily took away and fixed on the spot. Would highly recommend her to all, will certainly make the hour trek to work with her again.

Bernadette is warm, patient, helpful and highly knowledgeable, her guidance made the experience easy. The dress fittings were effortless, Bernadette looked after you and reassured you in the right direction. The dress was made to suit my shape, I felt relaxed and comfortable wearing the dress to my son’s wedding, I received many compliments. Thank you so much, a decision well made.

Bernadette saved my wedding dress !!!

I bought my dress somewhere else 18 months before my wedding. Then I had a baby.
I went to her 3 months before my wedding with my wedding dress and I was in tears. I hated my body and I hated my dress.
My dress no longer fit my bust since being pregnant and breast feeding.

Bernadette was beautiful. So personable and kind. She made me feel beautiful again and completely reconstructed my dress to the point where I loved it again and it fit me perfectly.
I had 3 fittings and each time I tried the dress on she altered it to fit me and fit my new body.
I felt confident and beautiful on my wedding day and it’s all thanks to Bernadette !!!

I loved my experience in her shop and the price she charged me was unbelievably reasonable. Super affordable considering the amount of time and work she put into my dress.

If I were to do it all over again I would have Bernadette make me a dress from scratch because her designs and dress making abilities are incredible.

Bernadette did an incredible job of my dress. I wanted to use an antique lace skirt my mum had been married in and add my own modern twist to it. It was a bit of a task and to make it more tricky I got pregnant before the big day!!

Bernadette was great though and the dress turned out beautiful!
