Huon River Cruises

I can’t speak highly enough of Taylor and Huon River Cruises. We had an amazing morning on the river. From the scones and coffee, to the spectacular scenery of the beautiful Huon Valley and river. We have lived on the river for over a year and with my parents visiting from the mainland, it was a great reason to book a private cruise. Our expectations were way exceeded! Taylor is extremely professional and friendly and makes the trip even better. Do yourself a favour and book a cruise or better still, a private charter for a special occasion.

From the time my group of friends arrived Taylor made us feel very welcome. The boat is beautifully fitted out and very much meets the needs of the cruise. The food and wine were second to none. Definitely coming back for another cruise sometime soon!

Scenic Cruise along the River. Highly Recommend!! This is the best way to experience the beautiful area. Would I do this again, yes. A comfortable cruise down the river with stunning 360• of panoramic views. The tasting platter is sourced locally.

The turn in on google is not accurate but there is signage!
Book ahead or call, the grazing platter was $15 extra, it’s very relaxed and there is drink’s available on board. I found it affordable and worth it.

My husband and I spent a lovely cruise sailing on the Huon last Friday. Ninety minutes embracing the river and the history of the river, boats and houses along the way. Taylor is very friendly with lots of knowledge about the river and the beauty that surrounds it. The afternoon was overcast with a bit of drizzle but that didn’t dampen the cruise. A couple of rainbows appeared which was great to see over the river.

I highly recommend this leisurely cruise.

Fantastic cruise on the beautiful Huon River with the very friendly and knowledgeable Taylor. The boat is a gorgeous 1948 timber cruiser, such a treat to experience. The platter of local yummy things was the cherry on the top! Highly recommend!

Spent a relaxing afternoon aboard LaDrone with Taylor who plied us with tasty local food & beverages & spoke about the history of the Huon Valley, the town of Franklin & all the beautiful old original buildings & boats. A fantastic way to see this beautiful area from the water on a perfect Autumn day. Highly recommend - thank you!!

Thanks for such a great experience on the Huon River Cruise. Our children enjoyed the views and the delicious food that is sourced locally. We also enjoyed the history of the area and vast knowledge that was shared during the cruise. This is a must do for families and couples - just stunning.

This cruise was a pleasant experience thanks to skipper Taylor and his mate, Paul. The platter of local produce, and the chilled complimentary drinks were very enjoyable along with the staffs commentary and friendy chat. Fantastic.

Had a lovely cruise this morning. Taylor is very knowledgeable, and we learnt a lot about the history of the area while cruising up the river. The scones were delicious and the cabin very comfortable for a relaxed morning on the water.

We were fortunate to have a wonderful relaxing trip on the Huon River in beautiful glassy water. Our skipper was very welcoming and provided us with a sumptuous grazing platter featuring local produce and a very generous serving of
smoked salmon. Great information was shared during the 90 minute trip. Thankyou.

A picturesque and memorable experience for tourists and locals alike. The cruise runs about the length of Egg Island and is a unique way to see the history of Franklin. Grateful for Captain Taylor taking us out (two people) on a same day booking on a public holiday! Local cheeseboard was a good choice. Highly recommend.

Absolutely fantastic!

Wonderful relaxing cruise hosted by a captain who guides you through the history of this beautiful river valley.

The local produce tasting plate and wine was scrumptious.

Outstanding value for money!

Really loved our cruise. It was a slightly damp day but a smooth ride regardless. We did the morning cruise with scone and tea and the scone was both delicious and huge. Great commentary, a good duration and altogether value for money. We even got to stop by the winery on the way out as an extra bonus.

This is a great experience on a beautiful old vessel. The owner and skipper clearly knows the area well and was happy to share his wealth of knowledge. Definitely worth the money.
