Hamilton Inn Cafe, Bar1826&Bistro and Accommodation

We went into the cafe and didn't know what to expect. We bought lamb pasty which was like a lamb calzone. Unreal. So surprised at the quality of the meat/seasoning and the flaky crust. 5 stars

Couldn’t have stumbled across a better pub. Warm & incredibly inviting vibes, really sweet and accomodating staff and absolutely delicious food! The shepherds pie is to die for and the pizzas are better than the ones I had in Italy. Can’t wait to visit again soon. You guys are fabulous

We are from Qld and travelling in a motorhome. We enjoyed a couple of beers when we arrived. Decided to stay a extra night so that we could have lunch the next day. Beef ragu for my wife, cottage pie for me. 11 out of 10. Lovely, home cooked meals, very generous serves, nothing pretentious. Young lady behind the bar, welcoming, quick to enjoy a laugh, great service and attentive. All up, a great experience. Would love to have you as our local. Thank you very much.

Had a late lunch at the 1826Inn and so glad for a place that serves food after 2pm. The fire was on and the staff were friendly and polite, a welcome relief on a cold, wet day. The chicken skewers were delicious and the rice perfectly cooked. What a wonderful way to spend a few hours, surrounded by the historical significance of this building and town. Thanks for making this day so much brighter.

Went there for lunch and the place is beautiful, clean, and full of charm. The service guy waiting the tables was so friendly and energetic, even engaging with our jokes. I was absolutely blown away.

Garlic bread was so yummy, herbed lam was perfectly cooked. Best food I've had in a very long time!!

Felt so welcome the entire experience, can't wait to come back again.

Fantastic meal, great service. Been back twice since, each time meal was fantastic, can’t recommend the Mexican parmi enough!!

Charming, Cozy and Historic. Great Cafe and service. Janelle was very accommodating with our requests and took the time to talk with us about the area and our travels. The coffee and sandwiches were great. Will definitely be back with the rest of the family for our next day out.

Best feed ive had since ive been in tassy, 110percent on service.... the missus even reccons we have to find our way back here before we leave. Finally found the quality food i expected coming to this amazing part of the country

On the way home from a delightful 3 day road trip up west, marred only by dismal coffee stops. Stopped in at the Hamilton Cafe and got great coffee AND great cake! The building also houses the pub and post office and is worth a visit for whatever reason. Bravo all!

Excellent. Beautiful old hotel with loads of charm. Manager spent time telling us about the history of the building and the area. We dined in the hotel in the evening following a relaxing drink. My husband commented (after having roast lamb) that it was “best pub meal I’ve ever had”. Room was comfortable and we were provided with a continental breakfast in the quaint dining room in the morning on Royal Doulton china. Great location to explore Mt Field National park the next day. Definitely recommend.

Lovely out of the way accommodation coupled with good cafe and kitchen. Worth an overnight stay.

We found it by accident but would love to stay here sometime. We had a wonderful morning tea beside a log fire end of May 2015. Gina's scones were so light and delicious. I highly recommend this. The antiques are just great and you can play "Guess what this is?" Things I didn't know existed. Wonderful people John & Gina. Very hospitable.

A wonderful family run cafe with excellent coffee and baklava. The service is really friendly and welcoming. Will definitely stop in again.

A pleasant old inn built circa 1826 by convict labour. A comfortable old style room that included a light breakfast. Dinner was a good old fashioned roast and a flathead dinner, both very tasty. A good place to stop overnight.
