The Big Rig

Bought a day/evening ticket. Went about 4pm and did the self guided walk around then stayed on for the 5.30pm night time show. All very well done and well run. Very enjoyable and informative. The staff are very helpful too. Would recommend.

Fantastic! Good displays, just enough interaction on the displays. The Tower is great, make sure you do both the stairs and the lift 😉

I highly recommend a visit. It's good for kids and adults alike. They have an interactive circuit on theme of oil and gas, a botanical garden situation going on, the Rig tower with outstanding views over Roma and the sunset, a very good cafe, and an intriguing, informative show on the history of the gas industry in Roma - and thus Queensland. And they have very good ideas about future additions.

The Big Rig is a great place to visit with a wealth of information about the beginning of the oil and gas industry in Roma. The tower and tree walk is excellent with great views of the town from above as well as the Bungil Creek. 194 steps take you to the top of the tower and even if you do the stairs make sure to have a ride in the lift to watch the hologram story. It’s well worth the ride. The staff in the information centre are very helpful and we also had lunch at the cafe which was very yummy.

Very interesting and informative loved reading everything and the I climbed the tower, omgosh so high but it was great and a fantastic view.

A must see look at the history of gas exploration in Queensland. I suggest you make contact prior so as to be there for the presented shows.

Excellent self guided tour. Climb the tower and bridge walk. 140 steps or take the lift. Very interesting.

It should be the first stop that you should do the first time that you go to Roma. First due to you can know part of the history of this beautifully place. Second, the nice people who work there can give you some ideas about what places you could visit

Great tourist info centre interesting story behind the oil that was drilled around here back in the day.

Roma was a great place...had a good vibe. Learnt all about why Roma exists....Oil & Gas it big!! Fascinating!

Great expose, lots of information and the clinb up the tower (yes, we took the stairs) was worth it!

Very friendly staff members. Unguided tour anytime within opening hours. But guided tour at 2pm everyday. We were too early and had plan so missed guided tour which we eventually thought would be best rather than unguided one.
A lot hisotry talk about oil mining and many things related to it.

There is a hidden gem!
Beautiful little spot to pull up! Plenty of shade, lots of parks. A covered kids park, with toddler area and swings. Clean and decent toilet block. Shaded picnic tables all around. Your right next to a beautiful little creek and looks like a little train ride. Highly recommended pulling off here!

Great insight into the discovery of oil around Roma while drilling for water for the hospital.
Excellent audio visual points of the history and development of oil and gas discovery along with the myriad of equipment used to do so.

Fantastic Place to have lunch and a break from travelling .

Great visit lots of info of the history of Gas and oil in Roma. Take a ride on the lift up the tower which is really a high light. The hole place was very well laid out and all close

Loved it. Great to walk up and down the stairs of the lookout tower, but make sure you catch the lift as well - there is a great video in the lift. I went up and down 3 times. Very informative history of Roma. A lot of audio displays. This park is not huge and will take less than 1 hour to see it all.

Wow what a well spent after and evening went to two tours/ presentation, the team were are a great bunch of people

The night show is excellent.
While in Roma, visit the Interpretive display at the cattle sales yards. Tuesday morning is a good time when the cattle auction is running.. the biggest sale yard in Australia... it is a wonderful experience to view.

Very interesting museum. Not just an exhibit but àlso a history lesson. I also liked the night show.
