Montrose on Moore

We stayed here overnight while riding the BVRT - and I wish we could have stayed longer. As others have said, the owners live behind this grand old two-storey building. They are super-helpful with bike storage and generally anything that visitors may need. The room was very comfortable with plenty of space to spread our biking gear out. Guests have the run of the house - including a lounge, dining room and big kitchen where there were supplies for a continental breakfast in the morning. This would be a great place for a large group, so comfortable and well-equipped. Highly recommended.

A great place to stay. My brother and I recently stayed here whilst on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. The place is very clean with lots of little things thought about to make the stay very comfortable. We enjoyed a dip in the pool and could make use of the kitchen facilities. Owners are on site but in a seperate house and are very helpful, friendly and welcoming if you wish to engage with them.
Bikes can be kept safe and ebikes recharged in a separated shed
Beds are very comfortable. Overall a very pleasant place to relax and enjoy.

We enjoyed a night's stay whilst completing part of the BVRT. Both the room and service was excellent, and the kitchen well stocked for continental breakfast (nice choice of coffee and tea!). We would certainly stay again. Thanks!

We were a large group with 10 kids and Peter was the easiest host to coordinate with. The entire place was set up nicely and stocked beyond our expectations. Rooms were neat and organised and while walking through, Peter was very understanding about having to make a few configuration changes. No fuss, no mess. The pool is where we spent most of our time and it was perfect. Thank you for being a gracious host Peter. Look forward to staying here again.

We recently partook in a BVRT event and booked at Montrose on Moore, given that it was conveniently located to the finish.

Soon after booking, we received a very welcoming email from Peter offering assistance with any queries we may have, and was always quick to respond.

The B&B had a very homely feel and well appointed with lovely attention to detail.

We would highly recommend Montrose and will definitely be back.

Excellent overnight stay thank you to our excellent hosts! Very comfortable rooms that accommodated our group of 5 easily. Clean, quiet, and comfortable, and great place to stay if you're riding the BVRT. Also enjoyed a dip in the pool after a hot day on the trail. Peter was very good with comms, including a phone call a day prior to our stay that there the trail was closed between Bernakin and Linville due to a bush fire. Highly recommended!

Lovely and very room place. Has old world charm with modern conveniences. Ideal place to stay whilst doing the BVRT. Can't fault the accommodation.

I had a wonderful stay at Montrose while chipping away at a few days on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail with my partner.

Rooms were cosy and the bed and breakfast was full of other wonderful guests that created a great atmosphere. The amenities and provided breakfast was great and Peter really made us feel at home. We would definitely visit again.

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary and rode the trails. It was a lovely time. Perfect home base to ride the BVRT.
Peter was the perfect host and the house has everything we needed. We could cater for ourselves in the kitchen and a lovely breakfast provided.

My wife and I, from Hervey Bay, visited Montrose on Moore on the nights of the 19th and 20th of October, 2023. The new owners and hosts, Peter and Jenny, were very welcoming. The check-in was straightforward, the free continental breakfasts each morning in a fully equipped kitchen were ideal and the secure bike-storage (with charging facilities) was a bonus . We based ourselves in Moore to ride both north and south on the BVRT. As social e-bike riders we tested our new e-bikes and the trail for the first time and found it to be exciting and will definitely return at some point to complete the entire 181kms. Highly recommend Montrose on Moore as it is an oasis for cyclists.

Stayed here for one night whilst riding the BVRT . Loved it , well stocked breakfast , everything we needed to cook dinner and comfortable house. Washing machine ( fantastic to wash clothes as we were doing a return trip for 10 days ) . Comfortable bed , friendly hosts and great to have a dip in the pool after a hot day of riding . Would definitely stay there again and recommend a stay there .

We stayed at Montrose on Moore for 2 nights during our 3rd BVRT ride. It was a wonderful stay & made a perfect base for our weekend. The house is beautiful & has every amenity possible, super comfy & spacious rooms, fantastic shower and a huge kitchen/dining/living area to prepare meals & relax before & after riding. The hosts Peter & Jenny could not have been more welcoming & helpful, even showing us the 4 koalas in residence in the nearby gums! Will definitely be back ☺

We felt right at home instantly, the accommodation and facilities were perfect, beautifully clean and comfortable, and enjoyed the generous breakfast supplies. Montrose was perfect for us as we took on the BVRT. 50km from Yarraman it was the right place for our first night. Great pool to cool down, interesting house with lots of space, all the amenities you need (TV, washing machine, great WIFI, food/coffee/tea/milk/juice, games, books,etc). The added bonus was we were caught short for dinner and fortunately Peter stocks gourmet frozen meals made by his deli/butcher. Roast chicken & vegies + Beef Stroganoff for us - all at a very reasonable price. Peter doesn't get in your way but is very helpful if you need something (food, bike issues, directions, etc)

Spent a night here cycling BVRT and it was so hard to leave the next morning, that’s how comfortable we had become! Peter was very welcoming and clearly passionate about both cycling and the trail. We had this beautifully appointed Queenslander to ourselves, it was tastefully decorated and the kitchen had everything including a wide selection for a big pre-ride breakfast, which we made the most of. We enjoyed our stay very much, my only complaint was it wasn’t long enough! I will be recommending it to anyone I come across who plans to visit the area or cycle the BVRT.

We've just spent a fantastic weekend at Montrose on Moore. This beautiful Queenslander is being sympathetically cared for and significantly improved by new owners Pete & Jen.
The house and gardens are very well maintained and equipped with the added bonus of a pool!
Pete & Jen are wonderful hosts who gave us a very warm welcome and went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our stay - nothing was too much trouble.
We would thoroughly recommend this accommodation whether you're cycling/walking the BVRT or just want a relaxing break in a beautiful property and location.

Beautiful old homestead lovingly furnished with every comfort a traveller could want. Beautiful, refreshing pool, and a comfortable house with chef's kitchen and all facilities of high standard. Loved our stay and would recommend. Easy walk to local cafes and access to BVRT.

Friendly attentive host and very well appointed comfortable accomodation. Spacious living areas and kitchen with lots of breakfast options included and self catering facilities. Everything needed including bike shed with facilities.

We spent a lovely weekend at Montrose on Moore taking in a local parkrun as well as riding part of the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. We enjoyed spotting koalas, sampling local produce and a meal at the historic Linville Pub complete with pig racing! The B&B was a great place to stay - very clean and comfortable with a lots of rooms and a large well-equiped kitchen and relaxing lounge area. The only problem was that our stay wasn't long enough.
