Highly recommended! Such a hidden cozy restaurant in Glebe neighborhood. Our favorite are baby squid and croquettes.

Their churros are also light and fluffy. A must try from us!

Amazing date-night spot or you can come with friends to share their delicious dishes.

Great mussels and amazing beef cheeks that were perfectly cooked. The octopus however was a little over cooked. Customer service is friendly too

Was impressed with Despana and it ticked all boxes that a good restaurant needs to. From the minute you walk in the door until you leave the service is welcoming, attentive and friendly. The menu is extensive with a good selection of dishes and every dish we had was flavoursome, will definitely eat here again and recommend to friends.

Despaña served us a 6 course VEGAN Spanish tapas which was spectacular! We paid $35 and it was good enough to fill two people. Despaña is a cute place with great seating area. We were served with Pan Con Tomate which had the perfect combination of tomato and garlic. Our second tapas was Beetroot Borani which had a good flavour of spiced walnuts. The third tapas was Roasted Brussel Sprouts which had a tasty romesco sauce. The Patatas Bravas was our fourth, by the end of this we were nearly full. The quantity was huge and the spice was just right. The Charred Cauliflower was our fifth tapas, by this time we lost count, the Salad was really tasty in here. Finally, we were served Blood Orange Carpaccio which was a light dessert end to our meal.

Completely authentic - cooked by Spanish and served by Spanish people. Best beef cheek I’ve ever tasted. Really nice atmosphere. Mid priced (just under $100 for two) but worth every dollar - sensational. They take bookings.

I've been to this restaurant twice and have had great experience both times. The quality of food was excellent. The atomsphere was great at night time.

Intimate tapas and wine bar with the most friendly service! Loved the Jambon and croquettes and I've been told the squid was amazing too + don't forget to get the goat cheese! Definitely recommend for date night... Sangria to kick it off and amazing Spanish red to finish

The food here is amazing. So good. We had a number of the Tapas - Marinated olives, Beef Cheeks, meatballs, octopus, artichokes, and chorizo skewers. The culmination was the perfect paella - we had both the chicken and the seafood and not one grain was left in the dish. Tapas servings are a reasonable size and oh so tasty. There were 6 of us feasting and finished off with the crunchy but soft churro with chocolate sauce. The roasted pear was excellent as well. No photos of the food as we were too busy eating it!

Normal ingredients but finished in an amazing style! Very hospitable staff (energetic and smiling)! Reasonable price! The cocktail, Despana, is beautifully made! I took few photos only as I simply enjoyed them so much!

First you taste with your eyes! The refined, elegant creations placed before us were among the most beautiful food we've ever been served.
Each course of the tasting menu was absolutly superb and made our taste buds explode!
The marriage of flavors and textures have been carefully thought out and impeccably executed. Even the garnishes were amazing. the spanish dishes they have created here have incredibly intense flavor and are absolutley wonderful.
The Beef cheeks literally explodes in your mouth. Absolutely the best!!
Throughout the nearly 3 hours of dining the dinner the service was excellent; attentive but not intrusive The Staff here are a credit to the owners and the Atmosphere is amazing! . Love to go back................

An absolutely perfect dinner. My partner and I shared some tapas, sides and the Beef Cheek. The Beef Cheek was the highlight of the evening. It was so perfectly cooked, moist, flavourful and just melted in your mouth. The cocktails were delicious and the whole bill was reasonably priced for how much we ordered. Our server was so polite and friendly. Can't fault anything. Will return again one day. ¡Muchas gracias!

I can’t believe it’s taken me years to walk in. If you’re walking on GPR, looking for something to drink and nibble on, do yourself a huge solid and go in.

It’s always great when places have Albariño, although you’d half expect it from a tapas place anyway. I also had the white anchovies, brown mushrooms, green and regular croquetes, salad Russian and tomato bread. Everything was excellent.

We four family members met up outside and we could see how busy it already was.
We were warmly greeted and that set the tone for the evening. Staff were warm and attentive.
We chose a set menu so we could try a wide selection from the menu. Meals came to us promptly and not a dish disappointed.
Loved the “feel” of this authentic eatery and we are all planning our next evening back here. Love everything about this establishment! I will be recommending Despana to everyone!

Booked a table for last Saturday night. Lovely restaurant with a cosy feel. great range of sharing tapas, the chicken skewers were excellent. Tasty selection of Spanish beers aswell. Staff were all very friendly and made us feel welcome from the get go. After the meal we had a few cocktails in the courtyard, which were excellent aswell. Highly recommend giving this venue a try!

Super enjoyable, the atmosphere is warm and intimate. Service was fantastic. Sangria is very delicious, have had a few out now and this one takes the cake. Food was also delicious, the artichoke and asparagus dish was my favourite.......until the churros came out, they were so good! Will definitely be back. Really enjoyable date night, glad we picked this place.

I can't express enough how good this restaurant is; from the delicious food to the most welcoming and warm service from all the staff, it was an amazing experience. We was welcomed with open arms by the lovely owner who told us stories about the restaurant which you could tell she was very proud and passionate about what she and her team have created. The star of the show has to be their homemade Sangria, we loved it that much we drunk 3 litres of the stuff and bought 2 litres to take away, yes you can buy to take it home! Thank you to all the staff for a fab time on Saturday night, I can't wait to come back! ✨
