While visiting Sydney, we found this gem of a cafe for breakfast.
Weather was good so we loved the French style seating facing the street watching the world go by :)
The coffee was really good matched by the quality of the food, I had the Mediterranean Omelette which I really enjoyed, a little too much with all the bread as well but loved it.
Friendly service and highly recommend a visit if in the area.

We had a friend's wedding lunch here. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Steak perfectly cooked. Excellent place!

Local favorite! They look after you really well and make you feel like you are part of a big family. Their lamb ragu pasta is to die for and I always come back cause it’s become a craving. I’ve the large sea food pasta and it was delicious. Nice place for a coffee mid afternoon where everyone’s shut. Right next to a bottle shop as well. Adds to vibe at McMahon road.

Inside sitting is nice and beautiful. Outside has a better vibe.
Food is good enough, I gave 4 stars and not 5 for two reasons; one due to the limited vegetarian dishes. I'm not a vegetarian (fortunately), but if you go with a group of people nowadays, you have someone with some special dietary as per trend, so better have something in the menu for them, at least to make people like me not to be worried for them and be able to enjoy my meal. Second, nothing actually was outstanding in the menu. I thought the Moussaka would be kinda their signature dish, but it wasn't special... Listen, I'm not saying it was bad! Everything was good, but not to get the 5 star.
Service was very good; the entree came quickly, and the table got completely cleaned before the main course, which you imagine is standard, but believe me, it is not the case in Australia. Simply read my other reviews, and you will know.
The one thing: please put more smiles on your faces, guys. I know by 12 yrs of exp how hard the job is, especially in a crowded venue like this, the restaurant, and on top of that, the waiters/service is why people go to a restaurant; to feel better after their exhausting jobs and to feel cared!

A great find during our first day in Sydney. We were walking by and stopped for a coffee and a quick bite to share. The calamari is the best that I've ever had. We returned a few days later for take-away and it was great.

The service is excellent. Friendly and attentive staff. Coffee was as good as it gets and my breakfast was great. Seat out the front in the shade was perfect on a hot morning. Would love to try the dinner menu.

The food here at Piato is delicious and brings you right to Greece itself. I highly recommend the pita bread and dip and the calamari. The staff were nice and friendly. I would definitely recommend this to others.

Always a favourite for dinner. Fabulous casual atmosphere, especially if you can sit outside in glorious weather, but inside also great. The food is delicious, the service is always timely, and the staff are friendly.

What an absolute gem! Hidden in McMahons point is this amazing Mediterranean restaurant full of delicious surprises. All the dishes that we've ordered are swiftly prepared and well presented. We ordered the Marinated Open Lamb Pita, Salt and Pepper Calamari and their Seafood Risoni. What elevated our meal is that they served us the most amazing Sardine dish that is not even on the menu (my mate is not a fan of Sardines, so for him to even love the flavour of this dish is a good indication that their chef is a wizard 🤪). To cap off the amazing meal, we ordered Bougatsa. That filo pastry wrapping the warm Greek custard made our dinner extra special. Overall, our dining experience is superb! The service is quick, the dishes are great and the whole team is just amazing!

Shout out to the utterly handsome Cody who took care of us and to Nahal for checking up on our table and making sure that we’re having the best night. I highly recommend this place and we are surely going back and we'll be introducing friends to this absolute hidden gem in the city.

Delightful food served by a caring team with a good Italian wine selection. Seated outside when we were hit by torrential rain, but staff jumped in and handled everything with aplomb!

Had a lovely family lunch here today. Mezze and shared starters were delicious, with a special mention to the spanakopita. We shared two platters - the lamb and chicken, both very generous so we took the leftovers home for dinner. Such a beautiful spot on a lovely day and the service was attentive, warm and very welcoming. What a fantastic restaurant, we will be back for the delicious Greek food and hospitality.

I booked our family into Sails on Lavender Bay hoping to enjoy celebrating our daughter's very special milestone of turning 21. Upon arrival, the waiters very curtly told us that we were not allowed to have her birthday cake there. I explained that the girl who made the reservation said that we could..they still said 'no'. There was no care in their voices..they didn't even pretend to care. Feeling really upset, I called Piato Restaurant and explained the situation. Without hesitation, they said that we could have the 21st birthday cake there. Upon arrival, we were made feel very welcome. After showing us to our seats the lovely waiter took the cake and prepared it all for us. With his happy and friendly disposition, the waiter brought it out to our daughter along with the candles all lit and cake topper neatly placed. He soon had everyone singing, Happy Birthday to her. She loved it, even if she was a little shy about all the attention. We ordered coffees to go with the cake and we all agreed they were the best coffees. Thank you Piato, you did this out of the kindness of your hearts and turned a disappointing afternoon into a happy one. We'll be back as we can't wait to taste the food on your menu..it looks so delicious!

Hey folks, stumbled upon this awesome Italian spot in Sydney—total hidden gem vibes! The staff are super friendly and on point, whether you're there for brekkie on a hot morning or a cozy dinner. The outdoor seats are just perfect for chilling in the shade. They've got a breakfast menu with killer options like eggs benedict, and dinner's on my to-try list for sure. Plus, it's the ideal spot for a date night after catching the sunset at Lavender Bay. Seriously, give it a shot—it's the real deal!
