Royal Hotel Camden

We were visiting Camden this past weekend and decided on this pub for dinner one night. We all ordered the rump steaks with various sides. The steak, topped with their steak butter, was perfectly cooked for ‘medium’ and the crushed garlic potatoes really stood out for taste and being amazingly crispy! The Asian greens unfortunately fell short as a side compared to the other flavours. For dessert, we ordered their sticky date pudding, which was great.

We also ordered a jar of their Royal Smash cocktail, which was delicious! Recommended for those who enjoy fruity flavours. We would definitely come back again.

This is an excellent, spacious and classy place to visit on your own, with a partner or in large groups!

I visited for dinner on a Sunday night and ordered a chicken schnitzel (parmagiana).

You can walk in from either the main or side street. Simply walk in and take a seat and go up to the main bar when you're ready to order.

The staff were very professional and full of charm. They always appeared focused on their tasks and were happy to assist me when I asked for assistance. This made for a very welcoming atmosphere.

Speaking of atmosphere, the place has had its decor updated recently, and they've gone for a dark theme (nothing the black walls and charcoal carpets, etc.), which presents an air of refinement.

It does not appear that any expense was appeared on the furniture, as you'll find leather couches, wooden chairs and plush high back chairs (which were stupendously comfy!)

And there's plenty of room, at least for 100-200 people in the main area (and there could be more).

How was the food? Delicious.
The generous portion of chicken was succulent and the chips and salad balanced it well. The wait time was around 20 minutes from the time of ordering.

My meal with a glass of coke will cost you a little over $30. In my eyes, the quality of the meal and the excellent atmosphere is well worth this price.

Will definitely keep this place high on my list for a revisit when I want a classy lunch or dinner in Camden again. Would recommend this to anyone.

I had a friend visit for a couple of nights, and I wanted to take him to a good quite air-conditioned pub for a counter lunch (as it was in the early 30's outside). I had heard through family and friends that The Royal Hotel Camden was astounding in all aspects so that is where we went. We were amazed at not only the quality of food, but also the service. This is easily one of the best meals I have eaten at a pub. I cannot recommend this place enough! Such a warm and welcoming environment.

Tonight some friends and I decided to head on down to the pub to grab a feed. We were warmly welcomed by a cute waiter with short blonde hair. He was definitely giving signals, when I went to approach him I was shut down very abruptly, very unprofessional from him.

I just love this pub in the quaint country town of camden, nsw.
I come for the food, amazing burgers, steaks and each day of the week has a different special, for example Wednesdays are 12 dollar rump steak days. Their fries are super thin and crispy, and I love that they offer a fried halumii burger for vegetarians.
A huge eating area with booths, leather couches around coffee tables and of course normal seating .
Now this is what stands out the most to me . The bathrooms. Please see my photo.
Every single toilet is decked out like this. Extremely generous and trusting for pub decor. I highly recommend for the lunch crowd

Dropped in for lunch with friends. Venue clean and tidy, staff polite and well groomed. Had the T Bone steak chips and salad. Steak cooked as requested, salad had a very nice mustard style dressing, chips hot and nicely cooked. Recommended for lunch, quiet and plenty of space, good well priced beers and wine.

Great value- $18 Wednesday night Rump Steak with choice of gravy $2.50 Tastes fantastic & the meat is tender.

Large area to be seated and typical pub menu. We ate here before seeing the Tom Gleason show. We made our way here from the Lower Blue Mountains.

Me and my wife went for a drive up to Camden. We decided to go to the Royal for lunch. The hotel was great with friendly staff. We had the salt and pepper calamari for entree. I had the beef burger, and my wife had the fish. The dishes were awesome with a generous serving. I always say that the bun makes or breaks a burger. Well, the beef burger was fantastic. My wife enjoyed her fish, and so did I 🤭. We will definitely go back again for lunch or dinner..

I had the gluten-free option of steak and mash and my husband had a chicken schnitzel parmigiana. The meals were great and the red wine was lovely. Will be back again. One of our favourite spots to eat.

Food on point! atmosphere was mad and love how easy it is too book a table on the day

This establishment is a very family oriented place that has fantastic facilities and an excellent quality of food that did not disspoint when it came to quantity.

The staff were very friendly and helpful with all aspects of the service including being quite fast.

The food did not take long from order to eating.

The table that we were seated at was large and the chairs that accompanied the table were very comfortable.

Overall I would recommend this place to anyone. Whether you had kids with you in tow to eat, going for a specific event or if you were to go there to have a friendly drink.

Great food that we forgot to take a photo! Would have loved dessert but kitchen closed at 830pm!

Went for impromptu dinner. Food was served quickly and was tasty. I had a Steak with sides, was cooked perfectly. We also tried the Royal Burger and Pizza. Will be heading back soon

Ordered the Seafood Linguine and the hot cinnamon donuts and it was delicious. The ambiance on Sunday evening is good too. Definitely recommend 👌.

Can't beat the T-bone lunch special for $15. Best steak I have ever had and it is constantly like that everytime I go.
