@bar1806 is one of our fav laid back chill bars in Melbourne, with speakeasy ‘boardwalk empire’ vibes, great cocktail list and drinking snacks to boot. Really professional service and very hospitable. We had a great evening, food, drinks and jazz!

My husband and I attended the Advanced Cocktail Masterclass recently while visiting Melbourne. We had so much fun learning and discussing all things cocktails with Mushi (my sincere apologies for spelling if incorrect). He was engaging, fun, enthusiastic and encouraging throughout the whole experience. We appreciated how he tailored the class to our individual needs (my husband definitely knows more than I do) and this was done in a very considerate way. He was open to answering any questions we had throughout the course. We especially loved the process of having a go at creating our own cocktails. Strongly recommend cocktail hobbyists have a go at their masterclasses, you will not regret it. Thanks heaps Mushi and 1806.

Really cute and moody little cocktail bar in a lovely part of Melbourne town. What’s old is new again, ordering a Cosmopolitan and it did not disappoint. I used to drink these at the height of SATC 20 years ago! 🍸
Friendly attentive service. Rather noisy but due to people having no social cues or etiquette anymore, it’s a cocktail pub not a sports bar!

Absolute love this classic bar! The drinks are incredible and the service is fantastic. We tried the Light of the Moon, Caribou Lou, Once in the Morning and another drink that was specially made by the bartender for us (forgot the name of it though!). All of the drinks were delicious - highly recommend the Light of the Moon if you like more of a sweet dessert like cocktail! The cream on top makes it extra special. The Once in a Morning is very good too.

Love this classic, speakeasy style bar in the CBD, hidden inside a mysterious wooden door and a few doors down from Her Majesties theatre. Decorated with such old style flair and absolutely oozing with ambience and charm. Lots of red velvet, chandeliers, candle light and comfy leather seats sets a luxurious theme. They have an extensive cocktail menu ( check out the cute, illustrated menu book!)and are experts at whipping up the perfect drink.
I also like the downstairs toilets, hidden behind some classic old star portraits....and I just discovered a hidden whisky bar behind the Marilyn portrait.

Just fabulous, we stumbled on this place as we were discovering the city while on holiday, I'm so glad we came here. The staff were friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about their cocktails. The drinks were well made with fine attention to detail and flavour combinations. We all agreed in our travel group that this place was an unexpected and wonderful find. A place we'd love to return to for our next trip to Melbourne.

What a fantastic bar! Great set up which takes you right back in time. Beautiful ambience, perfect cocktails and the staff are so attentive! Helped me choose a GREAT cocktail 🍹 and the baked Camembert was yum. We will definitely be back !!

Absolutely, stunning and comfortable bar... Getting you back in the ages with amazing cocktails and environment as well. The employees are so nice and kind people, you can't expect anything else. The prices looks normal as well. We went there to celebrate the birthday of one of my friends and she loved it. It's good for couples and also for big groups. Definitely, this became one of my favorites bars in Melbourne. Highly recommended for everyone. Thank for the great experience!

1806 is an award winning bar known by many and unlike any other, a go-to for some of the best cocktails in town. It is named after the year the word “cocktail” was created and they aim to take you back in time, to the golden era.

Using only the finest quality spirits and ingredients, the bartenders here will make you anything you can think of - to a tee. Pick a more innovative option, a special or a classic, it’s almost guaranteed you will enjoy it. The menu itself is currently presented as a “Rhythm and Booze” record album, where you can actually use the QR code on it to request a song to be played in the venue. 🎶

The Queen of Hearts was strong yet fruity, a mixture of Vodka, Framboise, Sparkling Wine, Honey, Lemon, Orange and Mandarin Bitters. I loved it, it came decorated with a playing card (not a Queen of Hearts but the thought was cute). We also tried The Light of the Moon which was Moonshine, Peach Liqueur, Spiced Syrup and Lemon. It came topped with cream which wasn’t mentioned and probably should have been, either way it was delicious and reminded us of a cheesecake. 🤤

I loved the themed experience, old fashioned service and moody ambience. Can’t wait to return again and trial some more of their creations.

I did the beginner's masterclass at 1806 recently with some friends. We had a great time and made two great and easy to master cocktails. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic selection of cocktails, beer and wine. Knowledgeable, experienced and helpful staff will ensure you have a fantastic experience. The table service is quick and reliable and I have to try all the tasting menus next time I visit!

Seating across 3 floors, great to bring dates, colleagues, friends and family for a intimate treat.

The ambiance is soft and comfortable, room is well lit (rare for Melbourne) and a great environment for catching up with company.

Wonderful customer service from GUS. My partner and I did the whiskey tour experience. Gus’ knowledge and upbeat attitude was fantastic. Gus is a bright star and a credit to the hospitality industry.

What an amazing little nook. Very atmospheric with the candlelight and wall of bottles, relatable clothing and appearance of staff, the menus, offset with beautiful chandeliers, everything. So much attention to detail. Staff were absolutely amazing, friendly and fantastic service. I loved the whole experience plus the explanation of everything. Would definitely recommend and will be going back for sure. Such a worthy experience. Thank you!
