Universal Store Bourke Street

Visited the store and sez was the most helpful staff ever! She was so helpful and kind she was the best ever, if u need help you can trust her and go to her she has got you covered!! Love her!!

I am on holiday in Aus and have become obsessed with this store. I have visited the Universal Stores in Sydney and was now checking out the ones in Melbourne.

When coming into this location I was instantly greeted by super lovely staff. They were really talkative and were super happy to grab me new sizes and have a chat. They were super body positive and made me feel really confident in the clothes I tried on.

Big shout out to all the staff for creating such a welcoming vibe ❤

I visited the MC store for shopping and was advised to come to Bourke St since they have the dress I wanted in stock. The staff in both stores were lovely, enthusiastic and helpful during the chaos of 6pm on weekends. Shoutout to Sez and Olivia (I can't rmb her name correctly, apologies, but she was the cashier on the day).

Amazing experience here!! The staff treated me so well, especially Taylor, who went out of her way to fix the buttons on my pants before I bought them. This is dedication beyond what I would have ever expected, and I really must thank the staff!! If you need any help at all, universal store on Bourke St is the place to go for fashion needs!!

The staff here are cool. The woman in the green dress was kind and warned us about the jeans stretching out in the wash. If the manager is reading this, she needs a raise.

Two of us walked in to the store, and the girl behind the counter looked at us, continued to chat with a couple of others behind the counter without any acknowledgement, not even a hello. As we both come from customer service backgrounds, we were disgusted and walked out.
The money we didn’t spend there was spent elsewhere, where we weren’t just acknowledged, but provided with friendly and attentive
service.

I am absolutely disgusted with the service I received today. I purchased a hat under the precedance that it would be the same as a similar hat I tried on in the same brand. The employee who served me asked if I wanted the receipt. I declined and he threw it in the bin. I am giving this evidence to this story so you can understand the situation. I removed the sticker label which had a barcode on it expecting the hat to fit the same but it didnt. I went back to the counter to ask the same employee who served me 5 minutes previously for an exchange. I clearly stated that I wanted an exchange. The employee in question then told me there was nothing he could do because I removed the bardcode sticker, which I know in fact can be printed again because I have a retail background. I was told because I removed this sticker it was store policy that I couldn't have an exchange. I was then accused of being a liar due to the fact that I was not given a receipt. I refused the receipt but I never said I never received the receipt. Now I am looking at taking legal action due to the fact that I was accused of being a liar infront of multiple individuals. This has caused me a significant amount of grief and distress. I was then told that I was making a scene and when I requested to speak to the store manager I was given no empathy for my situation whatsoever. This whole situation could have been avoided if I was simply given an exchange. To me,an exchange is justified due to the fact that I never left the store after purchasing the item and tried it on briefly before deciding it was the incorrect fit. Again, I repeat that due to being accused of being a liar in front of multiple people I will now be looking at taking legal action under the law of defamation due to being made to feel completely embrassed and ridiculed by an employee and given no sense of empathy from either employees working in that store. I will never visit this store again and cannot believe that in this day and age the insurmountable level of disrespect continues.
