Proudfoots By The River

It was a lovely place on the river for lunch. The food was fantastic and different. We had cheesy garlic bread, crocodile pie, and kangaroo shepherds pie. There's a small outdoor space which will be lovely to use when it's warmer. They have a ramp for those who have mobility issues (like me), so we don't have to go down a steep staircase. The staff are very friendly and professional.

Simply delicious in a traditional boat house environment.
Dishes are sophisticated yet with common ingredients and are nicely presented on the plate.
It's not really a place for children, but there is a kid's menu. Even though the food is mainly fish, there are dishes with meat (pork) and chicken.
I would recommend booking (especially on a cold day) as the dining room is quite small. There are also tables outside.

Staff was lovely and the food was generally good and well-portioned.

The pork belly was soft and juicy, and the puree complemented the meat well.

Similarly, the pan fried fish was made great by the puree, which was light but flavorful.

The grilled fish had a hint of sweetness to it from the watermelon in the dish, which to be honest tasted a bit odd warm since its a fruit normally served cold, but it sure added a unique touch to the dish.

Venue had a nice ambience to it and service was moderately quick.

Spectacular views of the Hopkins river, sit outside if you can! The food was excellent : the gnocchi and the fish, I'd drive up there from Melbourne just to eat there and soak in the views! The service was great too, and they have a good Merlot. I certainly recommend this place!

My partner and I had the pleasure of having a late lunch at Proudfoot’s, yesterday. Pleasure is an understatement. Brilliant food, excellent service and a location that’s second to none. A beautiful, peaceful setting, with waterside views,
an innovative menu and excellent service. What’s more to ask for? And as locals, we’ll definitely be back.

So good I'm still at lunch and wanted to give my 5 star review. The range of mains on offer and the balance of each meal was excellent covering duck, scallops, fish, pies, calamari - each and all excellent!

We just loved it. The staff is nice and friendly, the food was just so good. The eye filet was so tender. I couldn't taste any dessert 😋 as I was full from the main.

Superb quality and unique ingredients. Enjoyed sitting outside by the water on the quaint terraced deck. Gentleman was friendly and very helpful, and he made a good hot chocolate. Thoroughly enjoyed, the food was very aesthetic and equally tasty. I would consider this place like a fancy treat. We visited last year but should I travel back to Warrnanbool (beautiful place so likely I will) I'll definitely be back to try other dishes.

We were a group of 4 adults and 1 baby and all thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. The staff were attentive and friendly. The food was delicious. I had the catch of the day (Blue Eye) grilled and was very happy with my choice! The fish was perfectly cooked and paired nicely with seasonal fruit and veg to make a very fresh dish.
An added bonus is the view of the river which was beautiful.

Celebrated my birthday here tonight. What a place to be right on the waters edge with lovely views excellent food as well as the service. Wood highly recommend this place.

We had the cheese and garlic focaccia really nice. The Kingfish cooked perfectly. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Excellent customer service! Called at lunch time to book a table for 5pm so that we could go to the movies straight after. Staff where happy to come in early and open the kitchen early, just for two people.
Loved the coconut prawn entree. Also had a complimentary potato and bacon soup, the seafood bouillabaisse and the chicken.
A little confused by the paper table clothes matched with silver service.
A beautiful place to enjoy nightfall.

We had our wedding @ Proudfoots by The River, it was unbelievable, the Food our Guests are still Talking about
Jack and Matt were fantastic to deal with, we just said to them, this is what we want, and they said no problems, or how about you try this.
We have had meals there, in the old boat house, but for them to do our wedding was a whole new level, and they were fantastic
We had to many guests for the boathouse so we had it in the hall, it was amazing 👏
We had a few with special Diets and the catered for all pellets and Dietary needs
They gave us plenty of time to set up and pack down
We had auntre, main, Shared plate arrangement on each Table, and wedding cake for desert and our Guests were full
Can not thank them enough for making our wedding such a special day

The gluten free options here are fabulous and generally the gf dishes are different from other restaurants in town and reasonably priced.
Once again, the meal was delicious, the staff were lovely and the restaurant very clean.
Each dish was executed well, especially the calamari (as always) was melt in your mouth.
The view is always stunning and calming, I forgot I was in warrnambool haha.
I definately recommend eating here if you have not already.

Truly one of the best dining experiences in Warrnambool; solid 5 out of 5 in terms of food, drink, service and atmosphere especially on a gorgeous day like today.
Top pick for special occasions, good function facilities as well.

Lovely spot, with very friendly and helpful staff. I had the calamari for lunch which was perfectly cooked . Plus a glass of Reisling. A very relaxing lunch
