Northern Vaccination Centre

I had my Covid booster shot here in late 2021. The nurse was wonderful. I had heard that the (very rare) side effects of the Covid vaccine could be due to inadvertent direct injection into a blood vessel. To ensure against this the nurse puts the needle in, then draws the plunger back very slightly, if blood appears in the syringe, you start over. I checked before booking my booster shot with my GP. The nurse there refused to aspirate (as the vaccination method is called) because the "South Australian legislation" won't allow them to do it. I am sure SA Health only has recommended guidelines - not legislation - telling practitioners how to vaccinate. Anyway, I resigned myself to having no say in how I was to be vaccinated and booked my shot at the Northern Vaccination Centre. Just before the jab the nurse asked me if I had any questions or concerns. I explained my experience in being told that I could not have the injection aspirated. With no hesitation the nurse said "I'll aspirate for you." She put the needle in painlessly, drew back slightly and observed "no blood" and proceeded to inject. I am very happy with my experience.

Very great Help.. Staff were warm and welcoming. Helped me out and were patient with me. The nurse was great and engaged in conversation to make me relaxed before the jab. Helped me understand the side effects and was pretty clear. I appreciate the wonderful staff. Thank you…🙂🙂🙃

Got my first dose of the Covid vaccine here on the 4th of May, the reception staff were fantastic on booking in and I was seen and vaccinated exactly on the time I had booked by a smiley happy nurse / doctor who made the process painless and quick, I booked my second jab with the reception staff before I left and once again this was an easy process. I can totally recommend getting vaccinated here, I was sceptical about how efficient they would be but I cannot see them getting better at what they do

Very organised facility. Experience that awaits for covid vaccine is clearly explained as you enter door by greeter. The staff at admin desk are cheerful and do their job well. Clinic can run up to 10mins late but the process of actual jab is really short.

I was very pleased with my visit, staff were friendly and helpful.

I took my 87 year old parents who both have health complications, to this clinic for their boosters today and was appalled by the terrible treatment they received. Immediately a big bald dude who seemed to be more interested in playing the bouncer as opposed to helping people, insisted they wait outside in the heat, despite there being numerous unused chairs just inside the premises. The guy was rude, patronizing, disinterested and 'fascistic' in attitude. I asked for a chair to sit my elderly mother on as there were plenty and the place didnt appear very busy. His reply was to get out and wait outside. I asked for a supervisor and reached for one of the chairs myself. In doing so the same guy shoved into me sideways and I got into a shouting match with him about his unnecessary behavior and I threatened to also call the police. I sat my elderly mother down near the entrance and by then the female supervisor attended our location but instead of dissolving the situation, insisted we stood 1.5 metres apart and not to block the entrance. The entrance consists of a double sliding door and there was nobody else waiting outside the premises. Very sad to see elderly people treated this way. Very angry at the unnecessary physical contact. We left and received excellent treatment elsewhere at the Northern Medical Centre where the staff are compassionate, understanding and nothing like the former place.

Don’t trust what website says, not open when they say they will be, phone lines don’t switch over when they close, seemingly whenever they feel like, ridiculous for a supposed walk in clinic
