Don't usually ever write a review but this interaction was special. My engine started to fail one morning and I went to South Central Mechanical the day after. After diagnosing the issue and at least attempting to fix it for a bit, they gave me the honest truth that the engine being replaced was best for me, long term. Then they sent me on my way free of charge. The honesty, and giving me the advice for free really showed that they had my best interests at hand and made me feel valued.

I don't usually find myself writing reviews, but it is the efforts and quality service that bumped my enthusiasm to pop in a review for this mechanic. You just don't see this type of attitude from a regular mechanic. Shaun went above and beyond you find a solution, superb communication, and cared about you as a customer. The type of service you come to expect from a 'local business', they really do put themselves above expectations and I was pleasantly met with an excellent customer experience. Now that doesn't mean everything was perfect in the process. But there is certainly a personality/service they provide consistently that accumulate all these five star reviews!

Shaun is a very honest and caring to his customer. As a customer, I felt understood and listened to.

I brought my 2014 Audi A4 with issues on its turbo charge, PCV valve and coolant system. My old mechanic quoted me for $6000+ for the whole service and Shaun gave me alternatives and managed to solve all in a significantly cheaper price but excellent quality.

Really recommend SCM to everyone looking to service their cars!

Fantastic experience with Shaun. Had a problem with my car that was shaping up to be quite costly. He was willing to work with me to explore other options to get me back on the road as fast and cheap as possible. Obviously won’t be possible for every customer and situation, but it’s refreshing to have a mechanic that’s even willing to discuss other options. Shaun clearly takes pride in his work and cares about his customers.

Cannot recommend the team at South Central Mechanical enough. They are incredibly thorough but effienct in their work and very well priced. Always really accommodating when needing to book a last minute service and staff are awesome. Will not go anywhere else to get my car fixed.

Such an awesome experience! Everyone was so nice, they explained everything to me in detail. I get nervous going to mechanics because of all the horror stories I have heard, but this place made me feel very comfortable and in control the whole time, and even threw in some extras for free! Quality service and great pricing, couldn’t recommend enough!

Shaun is very accommodating. He has gone out of his way several times to help me and my family/friends - on the spot at the last minute without a worry. We have been going to him for a while now and we won’t go anywhere else. His pricing is extremely fair. What I like most about Shaun is how transparent he is. He will call us and tell us what is wrong and why, then advise costs before doing anything. He will also re-explain everything when we collect the car so we are fully across the process and we get to gain a bit of car knowledge as well. This is important to me because a lot of people just do the repairs and give you the bill without providing any context.
He works really hard and has built up a great rapport with the local community. Can’t recommend him enough.

Fantastic service. I'm driving an old ford transit and had trouble finding a mechanic.. they all don't want to do it..
Here, I was warmly welcomed and helped in no time!
I have experienced mechanics that repair things that don't need repairing yet but here I was advised to wait a little longer with certain things... Very trustworthy and professional! I'd recommend this place big times! If I could give 10 stars I would!
