Golden Chain Quays Motel

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Motel is older style which I loved. Double brick walls meant I didn’t hear a thing from my neighbours. Even though it is on a main road barely heard traffic noise either.
Room was spotlessly clean, bed was comfy, lounge was great.
I even had views of the ocean when I sat outside.
Grounds were meticulously maintained.
Wes and Melissa were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
Highly recommend this motel and I will definitely return.

Totally recommended. The room and bathroom were super clean. Bed was comfortable and electric blanket was provided. All basic amenities were given, including milk for coffee. The lady at reception was very helpful. Couldn't ask for any better place for this price.

Rooms are clean and spacious. Could do with some more comfortable chairs and table but over all for the price its really good value. Has electric blankets and aircon/heating. Aircon can use an update as well as its the old box aircon which are a bit noisy and not suited for a room that size. Plenty of parking and close to amenities.

We travelled from Sydney and stayed on Saturday, 27th January 2024 for one night to attend the Kilcunda Lobster Festival.
We stayed in room 10 and had an amazing view over the bay and could see a cruise ship enter the bay early the next morning.
The motel was quiet, extremely clean, good size room and bathroom. The owners were extremely friendly.
Would highly recommend.

Fantastic motel at a great location. If you're visiting Phillip Island, I highly recommend staying here. I stayed at the motel December 29, 2023, while visiting the Penguin Parade that night.

Pros: 1) big, clean rooms, 2) An easy drive to and from penguin site and anywhere on Phillip Island, 3) plenty of free parking, and 4) friendly, helpful staff. Check-in was a breeze!

Cons: It's not on Phillip Island if that matters to you (it didn't matter to me). There are a few nearby restaurants, but it's not like staying in Cowes if you are interested in more of a variety of places to eat, etc.

We stayed for a night for a wedding, staff were friendly and helpful at check in. The room was spacious and clean, good shower pressure! We had a transport issue and the staff went above and beyond to help us out, not a bad thing to say about the place!

Stayed here with my partner and parents visiting from overseas. Very friendly, helpful owners. Room was spacious and modern, the beds were very comfy, great location, overall great stay will be back. Thanks for having us.

Stayed here for 2 nights mid Jan with my son.Great staff(smiles all round),surprisingly the room was cleaned after the first night,wasn't expecting that,and the room was very clean and smelled nice and fresh.Thanks to all at the Quays for a great 2 night stay,definately see you again.

The room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Comfy bed and the shower was hot with great pressure. The staff were lovely and welcoming. We plan on coming back to explore Philip Island more, as its a great location.

Very welcoming, friendly and helpful owner. Older rooms but well maintained. Our rooms were nice, beds were decent. We do recommend to bring your own pillow as you only get one and they are thin.

The location is a few mins walk to shops, across the road from the cliff tops of the beach and really is a great little place.

Ratings based on being a 3.5 star hotel and good prices.

Great spot to base ourselves for a weekend in Phillip island. Clean and comfortable rooms, friendly check in and check out. Highly recommend if your looking for a lovely place to stay while visiting the area!

The perfect place to stay if you are visiting Phillip Island as the motel is within walking distance to shops, restaurants and pubs. The room was clean and spacious with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Daily servicing of units and clean crockery every day is also provided. Ron and Joanne were wonderful hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Will be back!

Currently staying here! Arrived and was greeted by ron. He was so kind and very helpful and was happy to have a chat , he didn’t want to just hand over the key and take payment for the room and send me on my way. Ron was very clued in to the surroundings and recommended places to eat (Wich me and my partner have tried and both thoroughly enjoyed) the rooms are very tidy , beds great extra pillows if you need in cupboard. Shower pressure is good and heater is great also , electric blankets for colder nights Which is a plus! I’ve never been greeted at a motel for a stay as nicely as Ron did, his hospitality is warm and welcoming ! Prime location and very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend and will defiantly be returning for future weekend get aways 😁☺

We arrived late & Ron was very accommodating. Room was clean & spacious, comfortable beds. Easy 5min walk to shops. Large parking area for motorcyclists loaded for Phillip Island.
