Melrose Showgrounds

We camped at the Melrose Showgrounds for 3 nights recently. It's a great spot and not overly crowded (the property is huge). New toilet / shower facilities and good fun kicking the footy on the main oval. Camp fire at night. Definitely recommend instead of the overcrowded caravan park down the road which is only a 5 minute bike ride to get there as well as all the mountain bike trails also close by.

Absolutely beautiful spot. Powered sites are now $30/night. Toilets and showers in the new shed look great. Plenty of space for non powered sites but only 20 powered sites at the campground. Would stay here again.

Great cheap camping option. $10 without power, $15 with. Brand new toilets and showers. Nice guy manages the place.

Nice warm showers, clean toilets. Spacious. Good location to cycle or drive into town. Great value for money. And you might catch a cricket match too. Good location to explore mount remarkable and other nearby hikes and bike trails.

Excellent facilities. Large and diverse camping area (for tents and vehicles) and very good toilet and shower cabins. Hot showers for free. Rowley is a very thoughtful and attentive caretaker. Will definitely camp here every time I visit Melrose and the NP. Five stars.

Great camping and great prices. $10/night for an unpowered site. Lovely new toilet and shower blocks. No cooking facilities but they're working on it. Beautiful surrounds at the base of Mount Remarkable. Loads of places to park if you want to be away from other campers. Plenty of campfire spots set up so you can collect wood to burn during winter months. Rowley the Caretaker is very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back.

Great camping spot, the amenities are clean and well maintained. Roley, the caretaker is friendly and helpful. The area is so large that you don't have to worry about being close to neighbors. The mountain bike trails are awesome. Can't wait to come back again.

Great spot to camp. Have powered and unpowered options. Great amenities which are spotlessly cleaned each day. A few km’s from the town. Bring your own fire pit to stay toasty warm in winter. Bags of wood available locally, jyst ask the caretakers of the showgrounds.

An amazing place to stay! Huge amount of natural space to choose a site from, excellent amenities, a very friendly and helpful caretaker, walking distance to town, and access to the mountain bike trails. Brilliant, wish we could have stayed longer.

Awesome place to camp, great location for kids and wonderful view of the mount. Grounds are well kept with great facilities and the caretaker is extremely helpful and very accommodating. Have had 3 stays there now and coming back in a few months time.

Very nice place to stay with bush camping 🏕 caravans and a few powered sites really nice clean toilet and shower blocks . Small fee to camp. with plenty of bike trails and walking trails.

We stayed at the showgrounds during the Melrose Fat Tyre Festival, and I'm so glad we did. The campgrounds in town were packed in like sardines but we had plenty of room at the showgrounds. There bit as much flat ground but the slope is never too severe. Toilets and showers are central. Proprietor was friendly. Kids were able to ride around safely. Would stay here if you want quiet and don't mind being a few minutes drive from the pub.

This is a very well maintained show ground offering good modern clean amenities and good facilities at a very reasonable price.
The caretaker is a friendly , thoughtful person who goes out of his way to make you feel welcome when checking in. Certainly much more comfortable and better than most show grounds we have stayed recently.

Best campsite I have visited for a long time! HUGE area, several large areas with and among mature gun trees, plenty of bird life, has plenty for the kids to explore, bike BMX track, cricket nets, netball court, shearing shed etc Also several toilet and shower blocks, dump site, water gas refills AND at the foot of Mt Remarkable.

An absolutely special place. Beautiful spacious bush camping area with fantastic amenities in pristine condition.
Planned to stay one night and staying at least one more night.

Great spot very picturesque and Rolly the caretaker very friendly and welcoming. Has power and water good amenities. Situated on a 100 acres so plenty of space. Highly recommend
