Melrose Caravan & Tourist Park

Lovely park we had a family stay 5 powered sites and a cabin for new years and it was fantastic. The owner was very accommodating to our young pup as was the local pubs and town . Recommend a stay here

Beautiful place the website does not do it justice. Trevor is amazing and so kind to our young family. Will definitely visit again and recommend to everyone. Only thing I’d recommend is wifi so kids can watch a movie one night

It was a 42 degree day and too hot to set up camp so we were very grateful that Melrose Caravan park is pet friendly and had a spare cabin. Thank you that you fitted us in. Rgds Cathy

We were very comfortable on a powered, flat site. Cabins available. Unpowered bush sites across the creek were very inviting. We will be back!

Beautiful park at the foot of Mount Remarkable. Friendly owners and the cabin was spotless. Shower water was only warmish but did the job.
Heaps of caravan sites nestled in amongst the trees and an excellent camping site across the creek. Gateway to all the mountain bike riding and walking trails.

You genuinely owe it to yourself to book in for at least a few nights at Melrose Caravan Park.
New ownership since March '23 and they are doing a ripper job in an absolute beaut location.
Myself and my family stayed only one night, just needing a place to camp and we were blown away by the beauty of the spot and instantly regretted not staying longer or bringing mountain bikes!
Will be back, many thanks to the staff for making us feel only too welcome!

Such a special place. Travelling with a child and we booked a stopover for one night after spending some time at Wilpena Pound. One week later, we are still here!

Everything is within walking distance - bike tracks, walking paths and two small playgrounds. There's a bike pump track on-site too. The grounds are surrounded by beautiful trees and although the creek is dry, it's such a haven and is still green and quite lush. Camping at the base of Mount Remarkable is such a treat - I'd be happy to stay here for weeks!

The owners are fabulous - so welcoming and friendly - the best service I've ever received when camping. Nothing is too much trouble, they're kind and lovely people.

The amenities are clean, grounds are well kept and there's ample space between cabins and sites.

It's the perfect place for an active holiday, restful retreat - or a bit of both. Two pubs with good food, friendly locals and great bike trails!

Had a great extended overnight stay. Park is small but has everything you need. Ablutions are on the older side but very clean and heaps of hot water. Lovely lady in the office was happy to let us leave a bit later so we could ride the MTB trails in the morning as they were not busy. Short stroll to the pub and cafes.

We stayed there in one of the ensuite chalets on our way from Adelaide to Perth. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is a delightful quiet place to stay, and the chalet was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Price very reasonable. Certainly would stay there again!

Enjoyed our overnight stop here. We forgot there were campfires at each site so bought wood at the servo. The creek was running so quite a pretty setting. Amenities good, very clean. Staff friendly. Would stay here again.

Awsome views from here, great trail access and the trails themselves are incredible. Had a couple nights here and there are trails for everyone. The bathrooms at this park are very clean too. There are basketball/tennis courts that you gotta pay for but are cheap anyways. There's a little cafe, grocery store and bike shop(which has super friendly staff. Helped me and my bike get back to working order). Very cosy little town.

One of the most friendliest people in town and easy going service with good standards of amenities provided in room.

Forgot the name of the owner lady and her partner who were very friendly with us. They gave us certain very good tips for the area and around and have brochures available at reception counter, which us extremely helpful.

We will return again and would love to stay in the same room.

Lovely, clean cabin and a nice location.

Favourite place for easy bush camping (with facilities)

Outstanding location and caravan park. Stayed in the unpowered section, toilets and showers were clean. Strong water pressure and piping hot water. Gentleman at the office was very accommodating with my late night arrival, let me stay and just paid in the morning.

Only advice for campers, if wet weather if forecast eye up the drainage of your spot before you put up your tent/swag, definitely a few spots which pool water. Whole unpowered site is on a slight gradient so pick a spot on the higher ground.

We stayed a couple of nights here and enjoyed the experience. Nice walks close by and good facilities.

Stayed in the unallocated camping area over a rainy weekend. Campground had hot showers which are a nice luxury for ordinary campers, but essential after a day of mountain biking in the rain. There was also a hose near the toilet block, allowing us to rinse our bikes after a muddy day on the trails- this was massively appreciated. Toilets were flushing and clean.

There was a large rubbish dumpster, a yellow bin and numerous smaller receptacles for 10c recycling- meaning you don't have to haul your rubbish home at the end of your stay. Fire pits are scattered throughout the campground, although we couldn't have one due to fire ban season. Check with reception first.

Short walk/ ride to pubs, bike shop, cafe and general store. The jump/pump track is essentially inside the campground and it's only a very short ride to access the rest of the trail network. Couldn't fault the place if I tried!
