Been many times from childhood to now. Took a friend from NSW yesterday and enjoyed the area once again. Always something different to see. Amazing views from all different areas of the climb (and a must for all fans of the book, 1975 movie or recent Foxtel mini series)

Great family visit location only a short drive (about 1 hour) from Melbourne. Remember to keep a look out for the exit from the Freeway, the signage could be better. There is a sign indicating the exit is a KM or two coming up, but when you get to the appropriate exit there is no sign indicating Hanging Rock "This EXIT". When you do get to the park there are automatic gates which open when your car reaches the boom gate. You get your $10 ticket to exit the park from the automatic dispensing machine next to the cafe. Prices for parking may vary for special occasions. Climbing the rock is via a ramp (for prams or wheel chairs) or via steps. Both take about the same time. Signage indicates you shouldn't climb rocky out crops, but people do. You can see everything without climbing any of the rocky outcrops (and taking the chance or falling and hurting your self or anyone else). The Discovery centre is full of interesting exhibits, and also provides a tunnel for the kids to climb through. We visited the Rock one weekend and finished every thing within 90 minutes (a flying visit), but we would have loved to spend lots more time there. Over all the Park is a great site to explore and very well kept so the $10 entry is well worth it.

Nice views, can't take the pram up, kids can walk, not a difficult one. Has a nice cafe with coffee and lunch options. Lots of BBQ s and picnic space. We watched lots of kangaroos at dawn which was a pleasant surprise! Entry closes at 5.00 pm

We had a brilliant visit, walked to the summit and met a great park ranger as we headed to our car. Well done on the choice of staff with a wonderful sense of humour.

Real interesting place. You could spend all day here if you wanted to. Especially if the weather is right. Sometimes they have events here also so it can get busy.
