Fabulous beer shop. Gets some high quality stuff you don't see elsewhere (including some rarities) at fair prices. Always v strong on belgian and Dutch stuff, including top lambics you don't see much of here (eg de cam), also stuff like de molen, kees, 3f, cantillon, struise etc etc. Keeps me happy. Also typically accompanied by a relentless techno soundtrack

As I walked in the store, an orchestra of angels started playing Beethoven's ninth symphony 'ode to joy'. Walking around the store cherubs sprinkled me with hop scented petals. I was in a beer temple. I found the long dead, no where to be found Weltenbuger Asam bock, resurrected sitting on the shelf. I'll be going back based on that one miracle alone! The range of beer available makes a lie of the stores 'we love beer' slogan. They don't just love it, they live and breathe global beer. Similar to any good temple, it appears to be run by fanatics. As per any temple, you will have to pay, however it is money sooooo well spent. If you like a comprehensive range of beer, go!

Got to this place with a friend. They got an immense variety of beers in all size and shape.
Bought these Polish beer "Zywiec" to gift to some Polish friends. They told me it's a very good one and I'm looking forward to test them out!

I don't know of a better beer shop in Melbourne. Fantastic range of local and international beers, including my favourite Belgians. Always knowledgeable and friendly. Today's December 30 20% off singles was a high point of my 2022!

This spot has everything and then some! You won’t be disappointed, from local craft brew favourites to obscure imports. If you have a question about flavour profiles, processes or pairings, just ask Dan. He knows all! I’m so lucky it’s near me right on Bridge Rd.

Great shop, helpful staff.
Overheard the staff member talking to a lady who was not a beer expert who seemed to be buying some gifts - he was super helpful and patient.
Then the staff member was helping a serious beer drinker and was able to switch into expert mode. Still super helpful, and really insightful.
My brother and I have been coming here for years to fuel our beer reviewing shenanigans and they have never disappointed.

Great craft beer shop. Always updating their website with new arrivals, super easy to navigate and find the beers you want. ordering process and shipping time is also top notch. Get alot of different stock in, usually if I'm looking for something particular, ill find it at Purvis. Sometimes $1-2 more expensive than some other shops, but worth it for their website and selection. Keep it up Craig 👍

The staff are knowledgeable on the beer and they have member discount deals on bulk buys.

Parking is limited but best on the other side of the road. Shop hours are great. Especially when you want to visit on week nights.

I bought 5 boxes of random beers from those guys over the last year and I was always getting fantastic value for money, but they really went above and beyond with this 2020 advent calendar (at least in my case, they're proly random). I just wanted to write this review as a thank you to those guys - they accomodated all of my specific requests and I'm not even sure if they got any profit on my order, there's so many good and expensive brews.
They also seemed quite friendly when I spoke to one of them on the phone. I'm lucky I don't live in Richmond or else I'd be spending all of my money here.

Extremely easy to use site, I ordered a gift for fathers day hoping it might turn up (it was bit last minute) and I was so delighted when it did.
All the beers selected were really awesome for the mixed box.

If you like beer, you'll love this store! They have a broad selection of (international) beers available and they're pretty cheap by Melbourne standards. I was looking for a specific Belgian beer, one that is not commonly available in Australia; I found it at Purvis and it was cheaper than the prices I'd seen in other (online) bottle shops.

What a selection! If your ever in Richmond check it out. Has everything from flowery IPAs (just drink cordial) to stouts, barrel aged beers and tripples that make you think that your living in the mediaeval ages. The more the beer tastes like it's passed over a monk's foot the happier I am.
