We had a full day and night guided wildlife tour of the island (that ran until 1:30 am!). Oyr guide Don was very knowledgeable and fun to spend the day with. Focus was on birds in the daytime and marsupials at night, but also very interesting to hear about the flora and history of the island, Tasmania and Australia. The tour is not cheap but very good value for money. We saw an (elusive and endagered) Swift parrot and lots more (loved the little spotted quoll we saw during our night drive), had a delicious take away lunch from Bruny hotel on the beach at Adventure Bay and enjoyed dinner at Mari Bruny. If you love nature and want to make the most if your visit to the island, book one of their tours. Just a morning guided walk around their property and visit to their botanic garden is well worth it. We are very happy they were able to arrange Don as a guide for us at such short (two days) notice.

We had a 3 hour property tour with Andrew, keen on seeing some of the endemic species of Tasmania. Although 'damp' we had a great time exploring a small portion of the property and managed to see seven of the endemics as well as many more including Swift Parrots, 40 Spotted Pardalotes, Dusky, Flame, Scarlet & Pink Robins. We also spent several hours in the raptor hide and witnessed the Grey Goshawk, Swamp Harrier and a Brown Falcon up close and personal! AMAZING!

Andrew was a very knowledgeable and passionate guide who showed us around and taught us much about these birds.

Already planning the next trip, see you soon Inala, a big thank you to all involved in an amazing operation.

A beautiful property with wildlife right on your doorstep. The property is well thought-out and caters to your needs - whether you're after mammals, birds or just a quiet retreat. We loved hearing the owls hooting around the cottage in the evening, and the Bronzewing Pigeons and Grey Shrike-thrush birds and their musical songs in morning. Really felt like we were miles away.

Fantastic tour at Inala. Our guide Cat was fantastically knowledgeable about birds, mammals, botany and ecology. We saw many birds endemic to Tasmania including the white morph goshawk and forty spotted pardelote. I would thoroughly recommend a tour at this great wildlife and habitat conservation project.

A friend and I did a full day and night birding and nature tour with Cat at Inala. She was AMAZING! The best guide I’ve ever experienced - knowledgeable, scientific, talked the right amount - in the Goldilocks zone. We had great looks at all but two of the birds on our list & saw Quolls which were a real treat! Thanks Cat for a wonderful day!! 😁😁

If you are a bird watcher, Inala is the place to go. A 3 hour tour of the property is well worth it. 1500 acres preserved for the Forty Spotted Pardalote and the Swift Parrot. We stayed in the Inala Cottage for 5 nights and toured the island and enjoyed the birds everyday. Highly recommend. The Jurassic Gardens are breath taking.

Doing a tour with Inala is an essential for anyone wanting to view and to do something about species extinction especially birds. Not only will you view 40 spotted pardalotes (inala has planted numerous of their necessary manna gums which are now mature and has also, and continues to refine, specialist breeding boxes) regularly but also swift parrots in season . 2 rare and endangered species which they are genuinely working very hard to give the best opportunity of survival. I was very happy both to see and learn about these wonderful birds in their natural habitat and to feel I was , by choosing this tour, perhaps able to contribute to their survival. Numerous other species including plants were seen and put into context with geological development of the area and continental development , making this a very informative and enriching experience. I would highly recommend it to any nature lovers.

My partner and I booked an inala nature and weren't too sure what to expect.
We were blown away by the tour, our personal guide Kat was amazingly knowledgeable and very good at spotting all the different wildlife types around! We had a wonderful time talking about nature and seeing wonderful endemic and endangered species in their natural habitat.

The Jurassic garden is equally as amazing and so is the museum.

If you are looking for the hidden gem on Bruny this is it! We could not recommend it more highly for locals and tourists!
The only regret my partner and I have is not staying on the property so we could spend more time there!
I feel this is going to be a regular visiting spot of ours now.
Thank you Inala we look forward to coming back in the near future.

I can't say enough good things about Inala. This place is absolute magic. Loved the accommodation, the tours, the property and the service. We did 3 tours - daytime, nighttime and pelagic and all were great. Bruny Island is adorable.

A nature preserve offering accommodation and guided tours, the reserve is popular with visiting birders keen to see the endangered endemic 40 spotted pardalote. However, we found our private tour offered so much more than 'seeing' rare and endemic bird species - we learned about the many ecological niches on the island and our guide Cat explained bird and animal behavior in a way that made the Tasmanian environment come to life. Don't miss out!

We love our time spent at Inala Cottage. The private reserve is well-taken care of. We got to meet Lady Poss and many birds. We also saw the milky way on a clear night. The cottage is very cosy. This is highly recommended if you are a nature lover and want to spend some nights on Bruny Island.

Had a fantastic time on our pelagic tour with our guide Paul. Even though conditions were pretty challenging, Paul had us onto many species, 11 lifers for myself. He was attentive, quick to point out birds, and also approachable. A very well run tour all up. Thanks heaps!

Beautiful bush setting and very accommodating host. Raptor hide is a great facility and well thought out. Cabin had all comforts required and a complimentary jug of milk to get a coffee underway on check in. Great bathroom with a spa and full cooking facilities.

A must do for bird enthusiasts visiting Bruny Island. With a dedicated 40 spotted pardalote viewing platform, you can see these elusive little birds on their level and plenty of other beautiful birds as well. The guides are knowledgeable, friendly, and entertaining.

Just completed my 3rd visit to Inala and throughly enjoyed my 3 day stay where I was exposed to some great photographic opportunities in Inala's top quality Raptor hide. On site accommodation is top notch & a must place to stay. The Inala staff also made my stay a pleasant one. Highly recommend!

I am really glad I came here instead of a cruise. I dont know much about botanical names, I soon learnt, from my knowledgable guide Bori but was more on a mission to see what is available for people with a disability or in a wheelchair. It didnt disappoint, the nature museum & the 5 acre jurassic garden showcasing 400 plant species across the southern continents, as well as its well designed paths, is easily accessible for everyone

Thoroughly enjoyed my time with Cat touring the property! She is incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to the birds/wildlife, plants and conservation efforts they are going through. While I didn't stay on the property, it's high on my list if I come back to Bruny. Highly recommend a visit here to learn all there is and support their efforts.

We stayed at Inala Cottage. Tranquil bush setting with easy access to a viewing platform for fourty-spotted pardalotes and pademelons living under an old shed next door. Fantastic raptor hide with beautiful White Goshawk seen. Cottage well-equipped with good heating and fireplace, washing machine, well-stocked kitchen. A very memorable experience

We stayed at Inala in the Nairana cottage for 2 nights in December. We live in Tasmania and definitely love to explore our local regions. This visit was for both business and leisure. We are nature photographers with Shutterbug Walkabouts and we took this opportunity to visit Inala Nature Reserve to soak up the tranquility of the bush surrounds and bird hides with our cameras, and follow our personal pursuits to photograph birds, wildlife and nature in general. There are 2 cottages and we've stayed in both on separate visits over the years. Both are very comfortable, well furnished and have all the necessary equipment for self-catering. We love it there and will definitely visit again for both business and leisure. Thanks team Inala. 😊

Fantastic tour of property. Great to see so many indigenous Tasmanian birds all in such a small area. Cat our tour leader was so informative and friendly.
