The Railway Cafe was closed on Sunday January 1st. But I had a good time discovering the old railroad hub.
Nice and interesting place! Next time hopefully with an open coffee shop!
Next to the old station: nice park with toilet , water and grill. We spent 1 night in this park (free of charge) .

This little slice of colonial history is a hidden gem. The Cafe is very good, the museum on site is well planned for a quick education and worth a gold coin donation. All it's missing is the hiss and chug of steam trains to bring history alive.

Dropped in for lunch during our trip to Stanthorpe. Absolutely best steak sandwich and burger we've ever eaten. Lovely to sit outside on the old platform.

Loved the bacon and egg burger for breakfast. The birds were friendly, and so were the staff. Really enjoyed our breakfast - wished they were open for dinner.

Beautiful views of granite mountains and the railway station. Plenty of succulent to take photos of. Fantastic food at a great price and you can be lucky and see a steam train arriving

Such a wonderful cafe next to a really cool train museum. Super tasty straightforward food, reasonably priced and served quickly. Definitely recommend having a visit if you're in the area. They are also very allergy aware and will do their best to provide a safe awesome meal!

Visited here on a train excursion. It is a great piece of our history and a prime example of the ridiculous differences between the Australian states, ie Qld with it's 3 foot 6 gauge and NSW with 4 foot 8 1/2 even the verandah roof is different on each side. Trains had to fully disembark to continue their journeys in either direction. The lunch at the cafe was good given the number of people who came on the train.

Lovely old railway station and the food at the cafe is fantastic.. I had their pumpkin and curry soup and it was delicious, perfect for a cold winters day.

I was not at all hungry, but it was a cold day so I ordered the Mushroom soup. It was extremely tasty, the portion size was much bigger than expected, and the bread that it came with was superb. Nice atmosphere too, soft background music, cozy and warm and not to overly dazzling bright as many fluorescent light places are, very relaxing.

Ordered a vegetarian burger, chips and a Turkish bread sandwich. It was all delicious and made with fresh high quality ingredients. It was extremely good value and there was way more food than we could eat. A delicious lunch for the two of us in a really lovely location.

Lots of history to explore, including 2 towns in 2 states. Wallangarra in Qld, Jennings in NSW. Was on a trip on the Southern Downs Steam Railway. Paid for a buffet lunch at the Wallangarra station platform. Scrumptious, filling and dessert included. Great day out on train from Warwick.
