Settlers Cottage & Diner

If you’re on the far south coast and you need to be surrounded by vintage relics and nostalgic vibes, this diner is practically made for you!
The menu is humble “milkbar” style food. Get your burger appropriately named after a vintage car (I got the “Valiant” veggie burger)... and order a beverage if you like. (If they run out of cream, they’re gonna whip some more up for you!) They have freshly made sweet treats; today’s was strawberry flan for $3.50 a pop.
You feel right at home when you walk in the door. And the thick cut chips feel right at home when I shovel them down to Buddy Holly playing on the juke box.

It's pretty nice for breakfast, pretty retro style.

Awesome find. From Central Coast visiting friends in Eden who brought us here for lunch. Great, reasonably priced burgers & some of the best chips I've had. I got to relive my childhood by having a Spider & the kransky in my hotdog was huge & old style full of flavour. The 'Diner' decor & quirky pieces around the room are fascinating too. Can't wait to visit again - pity it's not open 7 days a week

The Director of Domestics, Interior Design and Marital Relations and I both ordered the Chrysler, effectively a cheeseburger. We also ordered a bowl of chips between us.
Chips were super fresh and crispy. Burgers were very wow. We didn't get a photo because we were starving so we just ploughed in. Probably one of the best burgers I have recently had, to be fair. Good flavour... good seasoning. I don't like brioche buns. But this all worked. The decor was great, lots of character... All in all we're going to visit again before we leave. Definitely recommend for lunch.

Great place. Chips were amazing and the hot dogs and burgers exceptional. Only disappointment was they ran out of apple pie, which looked amazing. This is truly a great spot to stop for a bite and really well priced

Retro Americana decor. Small and cosy, with outdoor eating areas. Simple and affordable. Fantastic hamburgers. Chips are awesome. Reasonably priced, bun not overloaded with food items or sauce, very tasty. BYO wine, and glasses. No corkage. Great coffee, great service

Settlers Cottage is fabulous. A 1950s vibe. Great jukebox music, tables with red and white check tables, booths, etc. I had a delicious Turkish roll, homemade apple pie with REAL whipped cream and a milkshake. VERY reasonably priced. The husband and wife team are extremely nice. There's plenty of parking at the back and they're pet friendly in the garden area. Open 8am to 2pm Thursday to Sunday inclusive. I've been advised that they do a wonderful breakfast also.

This is the top of the best diners, food, hospitality and down to earth atmosphere,......WILL RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE, PLEASE ,PLEASE TRY THIS PLACE YOU TOO WILL BE RECOMMENDING......PRICE, FOOD ETC ARE VERY VERY RESONABLE...... WE WILL BE BACK !!!
