The Bavarian Belconnen

I had an absolutely delightful experience at this establishment! From the moment I stepped in, I knew I was in for a treat. The selection of beers is fantastic, and the food is simply delicious. The service is top-notch, with the manager and staff displaying expertise and attentiveness throughout. I particularly enjoyed the ribs; they were incredibly tender and bursting with flavor. I didn't even need my knife – the meat just slid off the bone effortlessly. I can't wait to return for more mouthwatering dishes! If you're looking for a wonderful dining experience, this place is a must-visit.

Great service with a smile.
They brought table water (with nice drinking glasses) without us needing to ask.
Great atmosphere, with plenty of seating, dark wooden decor, low lighting and a nice cosy feeling.
The music could be more traditional. It switched between traditional and Miley Cyrus or something while we were there.
Food was amazing - we had loaded fries with curry ketchup, a warm pretzel with butter and calamari for a light late lunch between three people.
My youngest daughter is very keen to go back to try the fairy floss kids schnitzel.
I am keen to bring a group of friends to have dinner here soon.
We were on a tight budget today but we ordered share plates and it was $37.80 - and we left with full bellies. Not happy that I was charged a service fee though of $1.80 and I paid cash.
Looking forward to the full pork knuckle experience next time.

Edit March 2024: The serving girl didn't know anything about any of the beers except that they all look the same. My daughter felt a bit judged by the lady's face in response to a question about what the Frankfurter was.
The $15 burger deal on Thurs night was great.

Good restaurant with plenty of seating space. The chicken schnitzel was yummy, fries were light & crispy. Staff is polite & professional. Very good experience, will be back!

The food was great, real chicken for the schnitzel, great flavour for the mashed potato & the garlic bread and pretzel 🥨 was also great in taste. Will definitely return & would recommend this place to anyone.

That was one of the best meals I have had. Had the Calamari and chicken wing entrees, sooo GOOD. And has the half rack Pork Ribs, OMG....delicious 🤤🤤🤤. Definately recommend coming here 10/10

We took my son recently for his 19th Birthday. The food is always amazing. But the lovely staff make the whole experience fantastic. So fun having our schnapps delivered to the table by the barman ringing a loud cow bell 🔔 They brought out the Birthday cake I had purchased, but I forgot candles. They provided candles and sparklers. As my son was about to blow out the candles they turned on a lovely fun singing version of Happy Birthday, which had everyone in the restaurant involved. Kudos for making our night epic. We'll be back, lots. Will recommend 👌

As someone on a lower income, $45 for a single meal is a rarer reward for myself, not a common purchase. The Bavarian Schmankerl (plus mushroom sauce as an extra) was worth every single cent though.

Thoroughly enjoyable and excellent quality fare, very satisfying. Although the presentation of the takeaway option does detract somewhat from the experience. Aesthetics aside though I will be ordering this again at times, the meal was delicious.

Dined In on National Wing Day, Thursday 29th of July 2021 after seeing it advertised. 2 adults and 1 toddler (3 years old).

Staff looked after us extremely well with being seated quickly (booked a reservation the night before) and letting us know how to order. Which we were able to do on our phones.

The mobile ordering was easy to use, included the 1cent wing deal for 10 wings to every soft drink and payment was easy, even lets you tip.

Food was amazing, and service was great. Will definitely be back to eat again.

They even do a DIY Decorate Pretzel for the kids. Wooden high chairs available for kids.

I had a lovely lunch on Thursday, cool atmosphere with a great service. A lovely and friendly young lady served us by herself! I’ll definitely come back!

I had a lovely plant based / vegan schnitzel burger with a delicious weiss beer. Service was good and fast, friendly and helpful staff.

Had the best experience at the Bavarian Belconnen in Bingo night and tried the new Sparkling Unicorn Schnitzel.
Food was excellent, friendly staff and fun vibes. Highly recommend to dine in with friends and family.

If you have never been in a German Restaurant, to taste their food; we highly recommend this place The Bavarian, at the Belconnen.

Great atmosphere and the best food we have had in a long time - the "for two" plates are more long for for so you will definitely order to much the first time but had such a great selection

Such a great place to go with friends and have a drinking and cocktails 🍹, highly recommended lycee paradise cocktails, no lies and really nice 👍 strawberry margarita would be little bit stronger, for the people whose prefer abit taste sour, you may try elderflower garden cocktails, if you haven’t try, you must come with your friends or family to visit here, they have such a great customer service and also serve good foods. Nice environment for groups gathering as well.

It isn't often that you can sit outside, enjoying a succulent schnitty with chips, watching people on their way into the mall stop and try to figure out wth my motorbike is. Well, keep guessing, lads 😈
I sat under a fairly loud speaker, assuming a full German cultural immersion experience. I wasn't disappointed, whoever made that play list has the same kind of PTSD that I have, with everything from Radiohead, then contemporary classics, to the awesome German folk band The Goebell Freugen Quintet. What a jam! Oh, and the staff were 😎

We have been here 3x time the first two times the service was amazing and friendly all 3x the food has been perfect we love it, even my fussy toddler. But today at lunch (12:40ishpm) we were seated at a table and then waited and waited and waited eventually husband went up the counter to order. As far as I am aware, they take your order at the table unless something has changed. No one checked in on us once the two staff members on just seemed to want to talk to each other and not anything else. It also wasn't particularly full or slammed so it wasn't that there were lots of customers. The staff we had in the past are amazing. Today, not so much. We will still come back in the future, and just hope it's the other staff.

I ordered the Bavarian Tasting Plate for two to share with my daughter. It was amazing, the serving size was so generous we had no hope of finishing it so we took containers away. It was delicious, the crackling pork belly and the sausages were yumm, couldn't even start on the schnitzel. It was all really good. We also tried the cinnamon pretzel and the Bavarian waffles, very moorish. My grandson had the Pork Knuckle, absolutely great. Will definitely go back soon.

We had a pleasant surprise on our last visit.
We came invited by friends, and had Burger and a Parmi. The service was great, and even with a slight setback on our order the staff were attentive, fast and very friendly.

We got impressed with the weekdays discounted prices for some popular foods, like 10 buck Burgers on Wednesdays or 10¢ Wings Mondays... We'll be back.

Chicken Mexican was crazy good! Highly recommended!
