Yamba-Angourie Surf School

Had a surf lesson this morning with Matt. What a great experience!! Matt is such a easy going and fun teacher , guided us completely through with it all. Would love to come back again when passing through yamba . Full recommend

Cannot recommend Yamba Angourie surf school enough! Coaches Matt and Amy are exceptional instructors who connect wonderfully with kids. Their enthusiasm and patience was amazing. On his very first day, our 9 year old son was catching waves. Each session was filled with fun, safety, and personal attention, ensuring a memorable and educational experience. We are incredibly grateful to Matt and Amy for their time and for making our son’s surfing journey so special.

Matt was an awesome, super friendly instructor. I progressed so fast in a lesson with him. He even took the time to let me know all the best spots in Yamba to fully enjoy my time there. Thanks Matt!

We had such a great time surfing with Matt! My friend and I are at different experience levels and Matt tailored our tutoring to what we each needed and made sure we caught some great waves before the day was over, really awesome 😊

My two granddaughters aged 7 and10 had the best time, Matt and Amy were so professional and made the 3 days so much fun ,while giving safe and excellent instruction. We highly recommend learning to surf or improving your technique with Yamba Surf School! There's nothing logical about a Winter dive into the ocean unless you're with Matt who makes learning to surf a warm and fun experience for kids and adults alike. Thank you Matt 🤙🏼

Superb lessons group and private. Matt and Amy were fantastic- patient, encouraging with lots of great tips. First time back on a board in 20 years and my son stood up first wave and by third day was surfing the breaking waves. Can’t recommend highly enough. Worth every cent. We tried the competition but we’ll be back only to Matt and Amy.

Luke had an awesome series of three lessons with Matt over Easter. Luke had great fun as well as learning about the ocean and its behaviours increasing his understanding of how to surf safely and get the best waves. We will be back for sure !! Highly recommended.

It was my second surf lesson in Australia but the first one that made so much fun!!! Matt is an excellent teacher and there is no way his energy will not rub off on you! He is the biggest hype man in the ocean! Would highly recommend!

Me and my friend pretty much never surfed before, so expectations were low. After an explanation of how you get on your board and ride a wave, and how the water is that day we jumped in. And after a couple of tries, we could stand up! We went back the day after to take one more lesson to improve ourselves! Great coaches and lots of fun! Would highly recommend it.

Jeremy is a top instructor! Knows the water well, very safe. Happy to get you up if thats all your after or has the ability teach you to begin reading the conditions and build a foundation to your surfing journey. Hopefully a lifelong friend. Highly recommend.

Great instructors! I had a great time, they were so encouraging and eventually I was able to stand up. Good for young and old. 10/10
