The Deck Cafe Restaurant & Bar

Wow, we were pleasantly surprised by this place. Went with my husband on a whim as we are holidaying here and lovely owner managed to fit us in on a busy night. From the moment we walked in service was amazing. The ladies and the owner looked after us and we had a lovely Meze platter, complimented by such and amazing sunset. If you're after a really nice meal and wonderful drinks don't miss this one. We were also recommended a lovely bottle of Chardonnay by the manager. Recommending to all my family and friends who come up for holidays!!

This place is the best atmosphere that I chose when I was at the first time and also “ Nick” who is so friendly and entertainers. He always remembered me even I just came here one year/ per time , Everybody please come to this place , you will getting the best and take a rest of your holidays ❤💫

We went here to watch the sunset from the marina and then dinner at the The Deck! The location is fantastic on the marina and perfect for views of the sunset. Food was truly delicious! We had the Spanakopita pastry which had a unique flavour, Coquilles St Jacques - the delicious cheesy seared scallops, and prawn linguini pasta. The pasta was simple yet full of flavour. The family run atmosphere is endearing and adds to the experience!

From the moment we were greeted to our final mouthful, this was a wonderful experience.

We had no booking but even though they were very busy they found us a table. The wait service was impeccable. The food came out promptly and was exquisite. The atmosphere reminded us of times we have eaten overseas and felt nostalgic. A little slice of paradise in our own back yard.

We have no hesitation in recommending The Deck. Thank you all for a wonderful dining experience.

Popped in here, without a booking, for a lunch with my wife. We were met at the door by the friendly Bambos who directed a young waitress to show us to a table he nominated. We had a great table overlooking the Marina and perused the menu. Everything sounded great but as this was a lunch we decided on the Moussaka for my wife and a Spaghetti Marinara for me. House water appeared by the drinks' waiter who asked if we required anything else to drink. I ordered a Stone and Wood Pacific Ale which went perfectly with my meal, the wife stayed with the water. The meal arrived in a timely fashion and was large. There were a lot of prawns, scallops, mussels in their shells, calamari and of course spaghetti. Both meals were delicious and the waiters/esses were observant, polite and efficient. We were full after eating our lunch and could not fit in any dessert which was a shame. My wife had a cappuccino and I had double shot espresso. The only disappointment for me was the coffee as it had very little crema and was not full and rich. My wife enjoyed her cappuccino so maybe my expectations were too high!
Bambos came over and we had a pleasant chat about our native homelands: he being a Greek Cypriot, my wife being an Italian, Calabrese and me being a Londoner! It was a good feel restaurant with great views and food. I highly recommend a visit if you go to Port Stephens, you will not be disappointed. Thank you Bambos and your friendly team.

Fantastic view and food, staff very friendly and they even know a little bit Chinese, thats really surprised me XD.

Delicious food, freshly cooked with quality ingredients. Friendly, attentive service. The setting, on the water’s edge is picture perfect. Highly recommend dining in and take away is also available.

Always a favourite amongst locals. Great hearty dishes, super friendly service, and a beautiful location away from the hustle of the tourist areas.

The seafood pastas are awesome.
The creamy garlic prawns on rice is so good.
And they make pretty good cocktails too.

Small family feel restaurant in exceptional location. Service was very friendly and prompt and serving were generous. My recommendations; if its the right time of year, get book for a little before sunset, we did this on 17th September and the sky colours were beautiful. And;
Ask for a time gap between courses so you can enjoy the above and your meals more.

Good vibes, good views, good selection of food and portions. Service was pretty good. The oysters were interesting, seafood salad was good. The pasta portion is big and was told it’s decent. It’s a cute family run business. One suggestion would be to have dietary requirements signs on the menus to make it easier to guests visiting.

Still the best in town. Excellent food. Not only great taste, presentation and portion size but also great value for money. Very clean, friendly and enjoyable.

Really impressed by this restaurant and the staff that all worked so well together. We were in at 5:30 and out by 7:40pm along with a full house. The service was efficient, the menu is big - so much to choose from, and all of our meals were generous and delicious. Make sure you save room for dessert! We will be back for more.

One of my favourite restaurants excellent food, view and wonderful staff……..but……..who serves a zambucca in a Bulldogs glass…..nick??? I don’t care about your excuses.

This is a cracking little spot. The service was brilliant, the food unreal and I'll tell you what, the portions were massive! So good. Really worth it.

Delicious, staff were excellent, rainy day, but that spoilt nothing. Chairs are a bit uncomfortable, that's my only negative. Stuffed mushrooms, Saganaki, Seafood Crepe, Baklava & Affogato. We will be back

Absolutely wonderful service and food. All our food came at the same time and the owners/waiters were so very friendly and helpful. The staff were very understanding about my food intolerances. Best restaurant I have been to for a long time!
