Kapunda Golf Course

UPDATE REVIEW 15/3/24
We’ve had a number of scorching 40 degree days. We’ve also had no rain!! Given the dry conditions, the course was in very good condition. I would like to make particular comment on the excellent condition of the greens. They were the BEST we have ever seen them and would match or better some of the more “higher” profile courses around Adelaide. As mentioned in my previous reviews, the course is maintained by volunteers only...... well done to everyone. We had a great day out on his forward to our next round.

UPDATE REVIEW 25/11/22
We are coming off a very very wet winter. The course was in excellent condition. The fairways had an excellent coverage of grass. The bunkers were well maintained. The greens were in excellent condition…… They are right up there with many golf courses in SA. As usual on our Friday visits there were a number of volunteers working hard around the course. Since our last visit there is new seating outside the clubrooms, new fencing and a landscaped area next to the first tee. Bob was very welcoming. He talked about their next project which is going to be an upgrade of the first tee block. There’s always something happening at Kapunda GC.
UPDATE REVIEW 18/2/22
One of our playing group needed a cart for the day. Bob was very accommodating and made a special effort to be at the course by 7:30 to give us a cart. We had a good chat with Bob (looks after bookings and clubhouse hire) about the condition of the course and how we always enjoy coming up from Adelaide and playing. He was very welcoming and justifiably proud of his club. A hidden gem located in a peaceful setting. Great value at $20 for all day. Given we are in the middle of summer……… The fairways were in very good condition. Greens as always were excellent. This course is maintained by volunteers only. They do a fantastic job. A great day out and only a 60 min drive from Adelaide. Well worth the trip. You won’t be disappointed.

UPDATE REVIEW 8/10/21
The fairways are the best we have played……. Excellent coverage of grass. The greens were cored a couple of weeks ago…….. they are almost back to there best. As always on our Friday visits there were lots of volunteers ……. Mowing fairways, green surrounds, tee blocks, greens, rough and changing holes!!!! Amazing…… as I’ve mentioned in my previous reviews – everyone should be very proud of the way the course is presented. The course will be looking fantastic for your Open in a couple weeks.

A hidden gem. This 9 hole golf course is always presented in excellent condition and maintained by committed volunteers who ensure fairways, bunkers and greens are manicured - on the Fridays we play there are always 3 to 4 volunteers in the morning. The nine hole course is set up to ensure each nine is significantly different in length requiring the use of different clubs. We play this golf course on a regular basis driving up from Adelaide.

A beautiful winters day- 18 degrees. As usual, on our Friday visits, there were at least 4 volunteers working on the course. Kapunda is purely maintained by volunteers. The Fairways, bunkers and in particular the greens were in excellent condition given we are still in winter. Everyone should be very proud of their golf course. Please read my previous reviews…….Well done everybody. We had another great day out and very much look forward to our next visit. Be sure to add Kapunda to your bucket list of courses to play in country S.A.

Brilliant course 20 mins from gawler $20 for as many holes as you want.

What a surprise this course is. It puts a lot of other country courses to shame. A must play for any golfer on any handicap. Very well kept. Greens are excellent.
