Sir John Franklin Hotel

We were in Kapunda on a Tuesday and the only pub out of the four in town serving meals was The Sir John Franklin Hotel. Recently renovated with a good (for a country town pub) menu, ice cold beer and good service. Prices very reasonable and 25% seniors discount made it excellent value.

Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and great food. I had the Chef's Special, Beef Burgundy, and it was amazing

Lovely food and good service ! Don’t go past the Chicken Caesar Salad or a steak… A Country hotel adds a spoonful of love to all the dishes … A favourite for me !

Has recently been renovated to a high standard, great food,atmosphere, and friendly helpful staff,not to mention the wonderful food!

The kindest staff and a lovely outdoor seating area to chill out in. Would definitely recommend for a meal in Kapunda

Had a great dinner here, burger was delicious and the steak cooked perfect. The salad selection on the plate was really good, not only lettuce, tomato and cucumber but pasta salad and coleslaw. Would recommend a visit for a great meal.

Called in to the hotel unannounced looking for accommodation, we were given a large room with a comfy bed and heated , the room, showers & toilets were spotlessly clean.
A complimentary continental breakfast was also supplied.

The food we ordered was quickly served to us, the main course came with fresh vegetables (no frozen rubbish) and a generous size snitzel.
The wine list was suitable with cold beer on tap , friendly and helpful staff behind the bar.
Great all round . Gets my 5/5 rating

I am so impressed!!! The reef and beef was perfection!!! I couldn't have asked for better Mitchell and Emilia did amazing seeing everyone. As a small table we didn't feel small to them even though there were 2 massive tables. The wait staff were phenomenal and had an amazing attitude!! Hats off to the chef who under what I'm sure is a bit of a crutch still managed to make our meals perfectly! Can't wait to come back again!! Walked in, sat down, served, and eaten within 50 mins!! Absolutely outstanding

I would have to say that the rump steak was the best I have ever had.
Very friendly service.
Could not fault anything & would definitely highly recommend everyone who's reading this review to make it a must.

Brilliant service and food!

Excellent customer service and food, 3 of us ordered seafood platters and although their was many customers in the dining room we were served promptly and was delicious, the bar staff were very friendly and professional.

Really enjoyed our 2 night stay. Phil and the crew were great hosts, delicious meals. The hotel is dated but the hospitality makes up for any shortcomings.
