Actually used an Avis vehicle. Excellent service. Vehicle was well prepared too.

Car ready on time, newly cleaned and polished. Clean inside. No hassles.

Extremely unprofessional customer service. The lady at the kiosk was very abrupt, rude and rushed me. I was then told ‘go find your car, it can be parked anywhere in the Avis or Budget section’. We had barely finished, I still had some queries. and she started shutting down the place and abruptly ran off, where I saw her getting into her car. Both staff members clearly just wanted to close the place and leave, and it was only 1pm!!
As someone who rents cars often from Budget all over Australia, this was by far the worst experience I’ve had with Budget. You need better staff!!!

Plane lands every passenger had left and the budget lady has only processed one rental pick up in 15 minutes.
Meanwhile the Avis line that was longer is completely finished

Booked a car through the website for <$300 for 3 days, then when we arrived there was nobody there and we had to wait 15 minutes for someone to turn up only to say that car wasn't available and the only one they had was >$400. Didn't matter what booking confirmation said apparently. A rude surprise considering we'd already made a lot of plans around being able to get the car then and there and couldn't really change.

Interestingly, when we first arrived we called the AVIS phone number on the booth next door, by mistake, but when we got through were surprised to hear it's the actually the same people in both "businesses", despite the separate phone numbers and desks. Weird right? Well when I looked at the terms and conditions to try to find anything about our booking confirmation, it seems the agreement is not with Budget only, it's with AVIS/Budget. It's apparently one business pretending to be two!

This explains, but doesn't justify, the awful experience, and the many one star reviews, including this one. Despite the appearance of competition, it's actually a regional monopoly, so the service they provide can be (and is) as garbage as they like. Where else are you going to go? AVIS? Oh wait...

The younger female staff member working 24/09/21 at 2pm was extremely rude and very unhelpful when we enquired about car rentals. Recommend staff to be more professional and work on communication skills as she is losing costumers for her company. The other female staff member was very nice and helpful.

The customer service representative at the kiosk is extremely rude. They did not provide complete details to us on Day 1 of all the required documents, and then held the car for not having the physical copy of the credit card (for someone who doesn't always end up renting a car,our option was Tap and pay which is used everywhere in Australia).
On being told that the details should've been provided on the previous day so we would come with all the required documents, she said she didn't need to be speaking to me directly as I was not her client (My friend was hiring the car on his name). I gave her the feedback that she is rude and that affects the company, she raised her voice and repeated that she didn't need to speak to me.
They have stern rules in place, so you may have to find these out BY YOURSELF before you go to hire a car from there for the first time. Do not expect any help or good service from the staff, because all you will get is a rude response.

The staff needs training in customer service and communication or else the company is going to lose lots of customers.

Budget was required to pick up at Avis desk. Five people queued with a very slow processing system. Fellow working was friendly, but flat out.

Unprofessional staff. Got berated by two staff members for using the wrong entry even though there are no signs. Will never use again.
