There are some really good walks in the area and this campground is a nice quiet starting point. Basic amenities and a cold shower are available. Doesn't feel very private as everyone camps in basically a single large field, but creative placement of your vehicle and gear can create some privacy.

There were lots of friendly kangaroos and kookaburras around. Great place for wildlife.

It's a trek to the beach, if you're the sort of person that wants to bring an Esky of drinks and a canopy with you to the beach you would be best suited driving to a nearby access point.

About driving, we came in a van from the north, the gravel road was very bumpy and we had to go quite slow. It has developed those perfectly spaced 'ribs' that rattle you to death. I hear the road from the south is full of large potholes so we avoided it. It is still accessible by any vehicle but if you are in a car just expect the last 10k to take a while.

Facilities were exactly as described, clean and well maintained. The staff member on-site seemed friendly and helpful. Nice walks in the area and around 5-10 minutes to the beach depending on which way you go. You will get up and close with wildlife, kookaburras, kangaroos, goannas. Just be aware they are bold and ARE going to steal your food, probably even directly out of your hand.

Stayed 2 nights at the campground, facilities were clean and maintained daily, no hot water but running water on site. Plenty of open space to set up camp in. Bush walk trails directly from the campgrounds, looping around Diamond Head or down to kylies Beach (10min walk) clearly marked trails and simple enough for all fitness levels but some not suitable for those with mobility issues. Wildlife will come by your camp throughout the day, kangaroos and kookaburras will take food off your hotplate or out of your car, goanna will give you a bit more space. Firepits can be collected from diamond head campground office which is 5 min drive away. The road into the campgrounds is about 15km of dirt road so leave the fine china at home.

Clean, quiet campground with cleaner facilities than most. A quick walk to lovely surf beach which is not crowded. Plenty of headland walks and a helpful camp manager.

For spot in the middle of the bush it is very nice. Drop toilets average... but the flat camp sites, tame kangaroos and heaps of natural beauty make it very family friendly. My boys leaned to ride their bikes here and could see them almost to the end of the grounds. Giving it 5 stars.

An amazing campsite with lots of grassy space, just remember that this campsite is inland from the ocean if you are expecting it to be right on the ocean. It’s still wonderful and it’s often less busy because of that. The shower block has also been upgraded as of recently, however, still cold showers only available.

This is a nice grassy camp ground where the local kangaroos come to feed late afternoon and early morning. Take a walk to Indian Head and sit for a while and you might just spot a whale or 10 passing by at the right time of year.

Really nice place and less busy than diamond head or Kylie's beach campgounds. Unreal view from the top of the hill looking over the beach and only about a 10min walk to the water. The road into the campground is a bit rough.

Perfect! Everything you Need, Want and Expect In a Campground. Both Animal and Plant Biodiversity Is Oustounding! Kangaroos make there way through the camp regularly and are quite used to human interaction. Native blueberry and raspberry cover the sides of walking tracks as Flocks of Quails weave through them. Having multiple campsites in the area helps alot to distribute campers evenly and spaciously. PLENTY to do and see %100 One Of The Best Coastal Campsites Around The Mid North Coast

Nice campgrounds. Generally very quiet while nearby Kylie's is packed with people. Friendly wildlife. Great basic facilities. If not busy, then there's plenty of space for games out on the grass. We find accessing this campground is best done via Laurieton to the north. The southern road from Moorland can be very rough.

Beautiful place. Sometimes see paragliders jumping from the cliffs. Campsite can be very busy at peak periods, at other times only see 1 person there. Often a couple of large goanas wondering round. Really nice walk from the campground past the natural arch, along the coast to diamond head.

Great campsite to visit off season. Loos and showers are great and cleaned regularly. We sheltered from the weather north and south. Can set up camp and do lots or do little.

A quieter camp ground which accesses a variety of bushwalks and the beach.
