We attended the campsite last minute, was thankful to snag one of the last campsites. The site manager was very friendly and helpful. Was really happy with the site, although quite busy didnt really impact the trip. Having a fairly quite beach only moments away, having the option to take some nice walks through the national park or along the beach with some rock hopping. The added joy of the Kangaroo's around the site that were very comfortable with people being around was special.

Absolutely fabulous spot! Beautiful beach & walking tracks with lots of friendly kangaroos and excellent camping area and great clean toilet & shower facilities. Our family was only visiting for a day trip, but would happily stay here one day with our van. Rates are great too.

It is in a very good location with easy access to Diamond Head Beach. The beach itself is very large and contains many interesting rock formations. We saw many Kangaroos in close proximity to the camp site but they were very friendly. The camp site is accessed through an unsealed road (approximately 4km), whilst it was traversable in a small hatchback, it would definitely be easier and safer with a 4WD vehicle. We visited during off peak and it was very quiet and peaceful.

Great facilities. Loved the beach, kangaroos and well shaded camp-site. Was such a shame we couldn't tie hammocks or clothes lines to the trees. This to me really ruined our experience, such a silly rule in a world full of ever increasing rules.

And absolute gem of a place. Lovely beach with 4WD access. The wildlife is amazing with families of kangaroos everywhere. The lady in the reception was very friendly and helpful.

It's such a beautiful campsite! Really long campsites, the toliets were flushable and very clean. Only cold showers but were great after a day on the beach. Lots of wildlife in the area. Kangaroos and beautiful birds. Everyone was really respectful in the space. Fires permitted off the ground, pits can be hired from the kiosk desk, and the sound of the ocean at night was wonderful. The beach can be driven on. The waves weren't too dumpy, so it's good for families. The beach is not patrolled but has lots of rock pools for kids. There are so many stunning walks in the area, long and short walks. The drive into the campsite can be tricky as it's dirt road, but take it slow, and you'll be okay. We can't wait to stay again!

The location is stunning, and the caretakers are very helpful and friendly.
We stayed at the walk in campsite, so the amenities are a long walk. The biggest problem was huge numbers of ticks. Go prepared to ward them off!
We loved the beach, the walks, and the wildlife. It was a great experience.

I really love this campground. While the caravan area is good. I highly recommend that if you can camp in the waking camp area do so! Morning are full of kangaroos and birds around. The view is fantastic on camping spot 75. Also you can heard the ocean. Plenty of wildlife too! I love it. Definitely one of my favourite spots so far in NSW.

I can see why this campsite is always so popular!
Facilities: flushing toilet and cold shower; byo firepit or you can rent one from the office; also the office sells firewood (cheap!).

Shout out to Kathy at the office, who was very helpful and friendly! Hope NSW Parks appreciates her dedication and service!

Great spot right on the beach. Well maintained and clean site. Cold showers only. Running water toilets. BBQ facilities. Sites are gravel with well kept grass. Kangaroo and lizards roam freely and are friendly. Diamond Head road to access camp site can be driven by 2WD but bumpy. Take it slow and you'll be fine. Beach is 4X4 access. Complete mix of people; backpackers, couples, families, older couples etc. Noise low and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. Good 4G connection if you want it. You can also hire fire pits and buy firewood from the rangers station office. Stay here!!!

Beautiful location with excellent amenities. Rocky coastline and beaches are great to explore and if you want to sit with some pretty relaxed wallabies, this is the place.

Kangaroos everywhere! Yes, it takes an unpaved dirt road to get here. Yes, there are no powered sites, and yes the showers indeed only have 1 temperature setting (cold), but my was this an awesome place to spend the night. During the day you can get up close to these beautiful animals to take some pictures of them and their little joeys

Fantastic location - great facilities, kangaroos aren’t aggressive but are very much ready to pounce on an food / scraps opportunities.

Kangaroos everywhere. Nice toilets and showers. Beautiful beach but be careful of blue bottles. Very nice grounds and a small shop on site that sells ice and fire braziers.

Fantastic and well-maintained campsite, no power or water facilities. There is a dump point and bins. There is beach access with a permit. Kangaroos and wildlife everywhere 30 minutes south of Port Macquarie. Highly recommend and will stay again for sure.
