Clingan Guitar Tone

As a long time customer of Clingan guitar tone, I cannot recommend their services highly enough. I've had them fix my amps multiple times, purchased some beautiful guitars from them and most recently just had a re-fret done on my 66' hofner. The quality of work is outstanding and is always done in a timely manor, for a reasonable price.

This is a genuine review from someone who encountered many dodgy guitar techs in Melbourne. To save your time, look No Further! Just installed a battery box on my beloved ESP USA Horizon II. At lease 5 guitar techs did not have the skill to do it. It was beautifully done just like how ESP factory does it. Also sent my Fender Strat which was almost ruined by another 'famous' Guitar Tech on Google Reviews. And Jeremy just made me love Fender again. It was so well done. More importantly, everything is so reasonably priced! Please look at the before and after pictures for comparison. If you think they look good, they play even better. Thank you guys! And for those who are reading this review, you are welcome. If you still do not believ me , simply visit their workshop before you make the decision. Just look at how big/clean/well organised the place is. They also sell second hand guitars! I am not a big fan of second hand stuff in general, but I am tempted to choose my next guitar form their place if there is a right model. Because I am pretty sure their second hand guitars are so well setup which same so much trouble for later!

Great vibe, relaxed, easy. Jereme is very knowledgeable, and really helped me - a great guy who knows his stuff. He shipped my guitar back to me in Perth, and it almost beat me home! Great shop and great service. Thanks!

Looking for something vintage and maybe a little quirky. The correspondence was prompt and positive and the guitar arrived very well packed and in a condition which easily matched the description. Highly recommended.

I attended Amp Camp and built myself a Tweed Deluxe whilst my son built a Tweed Champ.

We had such a great time building these that we are coming back to do these builds again - I'll build the champ whilst my son builds the Deluxe.

Lots of lovely guitar shops in Melbourne but Clingan keeps me coming back. No one offers better deals on buying, selling and has quite as good a variety of affordable and kooky instruments as Jereme. Also makes EASILY the most underrated custom everything particularly his pickups.

I presented Clingan Guitars with a very complex problem - a guitar neck made of 5 pieces with full fingerboard bindings that had become twisted. The complexity of neck construction (5 pieces) and the full length fingerboard bindings meant traditional methods of remedying the twist presented dangers best avoided. We discussed the problem, agreed upon an alternate approach and I commited my gorgeous vintage Rodebald Hoyer Jazzstar to repair. Before this repair the guitar had been loaned to reknown guitarist Amir Khaki. When the Hoyer had been fixed I brought Amir to the store who thought the repair was perfect - we're both delighted with this experience - thanks to all at Clingan -

Long time happy customer, but just had a vintage Maton Fyrbyrd setup and it’s gone from unplayable to playing like a dream!

This has been absolutely brilliant! Would I recommend Clingan Guitar Tone's service? Without a moment's hesitation. My vintage Gibson bass had a broken truss rod for nearly fifty years and several luthiers and repairers would not even look at it. But Jereme replaced the truss rod and restored what was essentially a useless instrument to better than when it was when I bought it brand new. And Jereme is a great guy to boot! If you have a guitar or bass issue, go here first. You won't regret it.

One of if not THE best boutique amps and guitar stores in AUS. Emailed through asking after small vintage amps within 4 days Jereme had the perfect little amp (exactly what I was after) come through his store and sent me photos and footage as I'm not in Melbourne. I bought it straight away. Proper legend, easy to talk to and very helpful

Clingan fixed a couple of fret markers which were sitting proud of the fretboard on a secondhand guitar I'd bought. Really nice work, bought the guitar back to beautiful playability and they were prompt and reasonably priced. Recommended.

Everyone I've spoken to is super chilled and friendly, and with a deep knowledge of amps, guitars and all the bits inside them (which is great for me as a music lover who gets confused by that stuff)

I've had guitar strings changed there a few times, they did a beautiful job of lowering the action on my acoustic guitar, and I'll be back in a couple weeks to collect my amp, newly fitted with valves. See you then, guys!

I contacted Tom Luck at Maton to book my Maton G250 Tele in for new machine heads, refretting and re wiring and was devastated that Tom has such a backlog it would be well into 2022 before the work could be done. He suggested I try one of the authorised Maton luthiers and I chose Clingan Guitar Tone. Best decision ever, the guitar has been lovingly restored with reprofiled fingerboard, new nut, machine heads, frets and rewiring with shielding. The guitar plays like new, but has a very characteristic retro tone and appearance.

Around a year ago I brought a beloved guitar of mine to Jereme and I am elated with the results that came from Jereme's work. I had brought my guitar to a handful of other shops before coming to Clingan, with each of the shops telling me that the guitar was beyond repair and not worth the time, money, or effort to repair/restore. The guitar is highly sentimental to me and as a last resort I was given the details for Clingan to see if anything could be done. The results have been fantastic and in the year since I have had my guitar repaired, it has never sounded better. Instead of being the last stop, Jereme and the Clingan team will be my first port of call for anything guitar related from here on out.
