Riverhouse Cafe

I found this perfect hidden gem while on the way to Port Macquarie from Sydney. While the view and its location next to the river is definitely a plus, the food was really good too. I have to say, the bacon and egg roll was definitely better than the ones in Sydney. We ordered 2 bacon and egg rolls, 1 english muffin breakfast, 1 dirty chai, 1 latte, and 1 hot chocolate with a shot of espresso. It cost $65 approx and every item was good. We felt so relaxed after stretching by our legs here and filling our tummies. Happy meal, happy heart. And the cherry on top was that they had parking.

The perfect spot for a delicious breakfast with a refreshing view, fantastic coffee and a beautiful atmosphere. The staff could be friendlier as could the prices but everything comes at a cost now days. Overall it's a beautiful place with very nice food and it's definitely worth a visit

I have been a regular customer, enjoying both breakfast and lunch at The Riverhouse for an entire year, Monday to Friday. Throughout my visits the coffee has been consistent and is one of the best options in Raymond Terrace, I can count on one hand the number of coffees that did not meet my expectations, but the exceptional staff were always understanding and resolved the issue promptly.

The food at the Riverhouse is consistently delightful, and I have only had one instance where I was not completely satisfied. That being said, the attentive and friendly staff made sure to rectify any concerns I had. Their dedication to customer satisfaction is truly commendable.

One of the highlights of the cafe is its verandah, offering tranquil views of the Hunter River. On a spring or summer day, it is a beautiful and relaxing spot to enjoy a meal while taking in the picturesque surroundings.

To top it all off, I had the pleasure of hosting my 30th birthday as a private function at the Riverhouse, Kate the owner, Ellen the manager, and the incredible team went above and beyond to make it an unforgettable experience, making the cafe look like a different venue, along with a custom four course dinner menu. Their attention to detail and impeccable service truly made the night magical.

Overall, the Riverhouse has become my go-to spot for delicious meals, friendly service, and river views. Despite a few minor hiccups, the staff's dedication and the overall experience always leave me satisfied. If you are looking for a place to indulge your taste buds, get great customer service and soak in the view of the Hunter River, the Riverhouse is a must!

Stopped in here randomly .glad I did the food is great ! They homemade sausage with bacon /egg on English muffin was excellent. Will stop in here on my next trip up north.great view of the river as well

Reasonably priced, good food and although it was busy, we didn't have to wait too long for our breakfast. My husband enjoyed his latte. Probably needs some signage out the front though. We just saw a small sandwich board at the side of the building with the name of it.

River views, a generous deck or sit in side and admire the features of the converted heritage residence. I was.put off on arrival by the long queue, however we used the online ordering app and the drinks and food arrived in quick order. The food was well prepared and presented. The staff were friendly and efficient. We will see definitely return to the lovely Riverhouse.

Food and ambience of this place is amazing. The views overlooking the river make for a lovely backdrop. Service is efficient. The chilli eggs here are out of this world - highly recommend. Great stopover if you're driving north from Sydney.

A place with great views. Good chai latte. Cheeseburger were highly recommended by both the people who ordered it. And I also highly recommend the pumpkin pasta.

Great view, tasty food and coffee. Spacious terrace can accommodate a big company and there is also a space to sit inside.
Breakky egg roll (available all day) is $10 (on the photo), latte $5. Everything was yummy and hot, just what we needed on a chilly day

Stopped here on the way up the coast with the pooch. Great location and food. We enjoyed our lunch and drinks and felt very comfortable out on the deck with the pup.

Food came in good portion, not to mention it is tasty and made with fresh produce. River view adds on the serenity in the dining experience. Friendly service and clean. Highly recommended.

Fantastic place to have lunch. Stopped here on our Motorcycle Scooters and were delighted with the good service and lovely meals. Scenery and views were terrific.

Great pit stop with a nice view. Got the Belgium waffles and the pasta which were delicious. A little bit pricey though.

Had a BEAST (bacon, egg, avo, spinach & tomato roll) and honestly it was perfect. The ingredients tasted good quality. It was ready really quick and the woman at the counter managed to make sense of scrambled request due to fatigue from the long drive between Brisbane and Sydney.

View lovely. Why eat at roadhouse on way to or from Sydney. 5 minute detour and country comfort
