No. 5 Restaurant and Bar

It was our first time visiting, and we arrived right after they opened. The service was exceptional, and we were lucky to also get a chance to chat with the chef while he was plating as he checked our feedback. The food was amazing, the atmosphere felt very laid back and relaxed. It was a great experience, and we are certainly coming back.

Work had booked the place for our end-of-year party, for which a colleague and I were DJing.
Maureen and the team at No.5 were super accommodating and had everything ready for us to set up.
It was a buffet set up and the food was amazing. Fresh and crunchy bread, tasty cured meets, lovely sliders, and honestly, the beeesst chips!... There were vegetarian options which colleagues rated well but I didn't try them. All in all, a really good spot for hosting a corporate event with 100 staff.

Great service and food. The hostess makes you feel welcomed before you step into the restaurant. The food is amazing, and the fact you can bring your furbaby into venue and be offered a dog bed for them makes the restaurant stand out from the rest.

A true jewel on the crown of Alexandria. A cozy nook where you can find great cocktails, awesome food, delicious desserts and even a fireplace for s'mores!

Wonderful experience and very dog friendly. Food was delicious, highly recommend the tiramisu. Dogs allowed inside and warmly welcome by staff with comfy dog bed, toys and treats.

This was some of the best food I have had for a long time, if ever. A lazy Sunday lunch was made perfect by the exceptional carpaccio, the scallop crudo and the lamb and salmon for the main. The chef is meticulous, the palet is complex but light. The presentation is flawless and the produce exceptional. The wine menu is well balanced and accessible and not pricey. The ambiance of a converted warehouse is warm and embracing of the industrial bones but refined. The music was lovely and the hostess knowledgeable and prompt.

Service was excellent from two friendly and lovely young ladies. Restaurant is spacious and the location is a little surprise. Desserts were little too sweet for me, but lovely food. Overall very nice experience.

This is a hidden gem. Short version: one of the best meals I have had in a while (comparable to some fine dining dishes I've had).

Longer version: Surrounded by warehouses and fitness gyms, I was quite surprised to find the restaurant nestled where it was, but once you step in, it's a completely differently vibe. It's an unassuming place with eclectic decor. Don't expect a casual menu, this is on the nicer side of a dinner out (definitely not fine dining, but just a nice dinner).

The steak (I am really picky with my steaks), and honestly, cooked to perfection. The No. 5 cocktail was also delicious. The chocolate tart was delightful! Such a light shortcrust pastry - so glad to have ordered something i usually steer away from.

The staff were very attentive and we just outright had a very pleasant dining experience. Will absolutely return.

Fantastic little gem , with very tasty and extremely well presented food.
The place has a very nice atmosphere and hope to go again when live music is on.
It is also a pet friend place , need booking due to limited availability.

Came here for mother's Day and there was a set menu on offer. 3 courses with bubbles for $79 which was pretty decent. Everything we ordered was delicious and full of flavour. There was even a Iive singer which created the ambience even more.

Would highly recommend!

Had a business dinner here. The ambience is perfect for a good/relaxing night out. Both my business partner and I agreed that we should be bringing our significant other here!

Located in one of the back streets of Alexandria is this amazing little place. We went for a friend’s birthday on a lazy Sunday afternoon with a cool and low key band in the background, had an amazing lunch with some very reasonably priced wine. Loved the excellent staff: friendly, chilled and knowledgeable! Cannot ain’t to go back!

So sad it’s closed at moment writing my review based on last experience. It’s fantastic food and atmosphere sadly I think it maybe a victim of its location. Best welcoming dog friendly place I’ve been. Hope you can make something happen reopen

Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at Restaurant No.5. It's a real unicorn (10/10) and is definitely on my shortlist for my favourite restauants in 2019. My favourite dishes were the Silken Tofu, Korean Chilli and Ricotta Chicken and the Barramundi however I enjoyed all the dishes to be honest - You can't go past that matcha dessert either. I highly recommend! It's worth the drive if you're not from the area.

Came in for dinner with the family and the bub. Service was friendly and fast the whole night, the food was delicious throughout and well portioned, we had just the right amount of everything. Will definitely be back

All 5* for me and friends that I take there. I have been there twice and I will very likely go a third time soon... great service, food, and atmosphere 👌

I had such a great night out with my partner and friends. The drinks were delectable, the food was divine, and the hospitality was excellent. We had a $400 voucher so we went to town and ordered everything and mostly put the dishes in the middle and shared. Save room for dessert if you can! Apparently the menu changes every three months. The restaurant is tucked away a bit but should be discovered and embraced by Alexandria locals and people from further afield. It’s near Green Square station or just off the M8.

An incredible local hidden gem! There are some Japanese inspired ingredients mixed with modern Australian. Hands down for the matcha dessert! Will take friends here for sure
