Great experience. We stayed at west campground for 3 nights in December, the view is great, the campsites are reasonably large. There is no water, power and shower facilities, so be prepared. You can find Koalas in the trees or walking around 😊 The natural Alarm (white cockatoo noise) will wake you up at 5ish every mornings.
It is about 25 to 30 minutes walk to the beach.

I have been camping here for many years. It is a beautiful cul de sac, much smaller and more sheltered than the nearby Aire River West campground. There is a drop toilet and rain water tank suitable for washing up but being untreated, it’s not suitable for drinking. Most of the campsites have shade. If you are lucky you will see Koalas in the trees. A “Parks Victoria” permit is required to camp there. The sites range in size from tent size to larger sites suitable for caravans and RVs. No camp fires are permitted.

It was my very first camping experience and i loved it. This camping ground is breathtakingly beautiful. The toilets were reasonably clean and there was rainwater to use. We saw different types of birds and even managed to see a Koala :D

It has basic drop toilets and rain water on site. Liked it better compared to West side camping ground. Got 20 camping spaces all together

Amazing campground. Absolutely in the off: no Internet connection. A lot of different animals can seen there. Highlight is my Koala. Please protect all the animals there...

Loved it. Lovely spot. A koala and it's baby were camping in the tree near our tent!

No power Or water but well maintained and quiet. 28.5$ for the night. If you're the type of person who does it, You can probably camp without paying. People next to us did that.

I stayed here for a couple days in August this year. The East Camp Ground is close to the Aire River and is the smaller of the two camp grounds available for camping and are managed by Parks Victoria. The road in to the campground while not sealed is well graded and maintained and I had no trouble getting to the campsite where I was staying in our motorhome which was roughly 5km in off the Great Ocean Road. A camping permit is required to stay here and is issued by Park Victoria with the cost being quite reasonable. For two nights I paid $24. There are drop toilets and table and seats within the camping ground but there is no fresh water and all rubbish must be taken home as no rubbish bins are provided. Toilets are drop camp toilets and are cleaned daily by the local Ranger Mon-Frid. No fires are alowed at the camping ground at all. There is an abundance of wildlife to be seen incuding some very friendly kolas and the scenery quite breathtaking. There are many great walks to be had along the river and the rugged ocean coastline. There is also great fishing in the Aire River the river is also popular with canoeing and kayaking. One thing I should point out is there is no mobile or TV service or reception. Overall Aire River East Camping in the Otways National Park is brilliant and would highly recommend a stay.

Traveled here to go canoeing while camping at Parker Hill Campground. The site is more grassy than Parker Hill and is adjacent to the river. I have heard reports that because it is adjacent to the river the mosquitoes are really bad here (apparently "no amount of repellent could save you"). Non-flush toilets and untreated water only. A nice little jetty to launch the canoes from but no beach area for swimming.

Its the best place we ever been for camping. You can do fishing on the river or the ocean. Open fire on the camp ground is also available. You can see a lot of koalas and kangaroo around the area. Toilet is available too.

A lovely camp ground with plenty of space in a beautiful setting. A number of shelters and tables also make it a nice spot for a day trip picnic. Abundant bird life with regular sightings of koalas and wallabys.

I use to love this spot but ever since parks Victoria brought in the camping fees haven't been back to the Otways I'm happy to pay for camping but when you have the option of pay $15 to $22 a night and that includes showers, toilets and power why would I go here.

I think a fair price would be $5 to $10 a night they would make more money doing so and their would always be someone using the campsites unlike now you only see people around during the peak seasons.

Great spot to camp. Definitely bring a compressor for wheels as the beach is just a little too far for young kids to walk to

Aire River West Campground - NOT EAST. Great place to get away. No reception - just brilliant! Camping for caravans, camping trailers and tents. Only concern, flooding at lower end for tents, even with no rain. Qoukd still go back though to same spot! Choices of places to fish, walk, swim. No power, water.

A brilliant campground. Toilets and limited rainwater available. A small shelter with a table and a 200m walk to Aire River. Aire River West campground is a little further down over the bridge.

Beautiful campsite with resident koala bears sleeping in the trees. One thing to note, don't light camp fires here - it scares the koalas.

This is a very quiet and gorgeous place, the campground is comfortable and with fireplace, but you can't take a shower because there is no shower water and facilities, all the campground use water is rain recycle.
