The drive to this lighthouse is an adventure, with a beautiful view of it from the winding road. There's easy parking and a short walk to the lighthouse, which is great for photos. I didn't go inside, but the surrounding area is the real highlight. Walking the paths, you'll find stunning flowers and breathtaking coastal views. Just watch out for the flies! A great spot for nature lovers and photographers.

We really enjoyed our time here and appreciated the discounted price due to recent damage. If you like to learn there is lots to do and see here. We arrived before open time so we took a short walk from the large carpark past the convenient amenities along a pretty track to a viewpoint where we could see the Lighthouse from afar. We met some hikers who were doing the 100km coastal hike which sounded quite impressive. We were then happy to explore the Lighthouse precinct when it opened. Very friendly and happy staff. Recommend.

The view here is fantastic! Learning about the lighthouse keeper's nine kids gave me a chuckle—maybe his job wasn’t as tough as I thought. 😄 His routine? Light up the lighthouse, enjoy a warm meal cooked by his wife, and then, well, expand the family. Quite the busy schedule!

Cool place, lots of history, could have spent hours here but we got there in late afternoon. Couple of wallabies added to the fun and came across a cute koala on drive in from Bimbi park. View from the signal station was awesome

Just an incredible part of the world. Make sure you open your windows to smell the fresh rainforest air on your way! Keep an eye out for Koala's and enjoy the beautiful views of the coastline.

Well worth the curvy, narrow drive at times from Warrnambool ( about 90+ min). Paid admission only to enter the grounds - currently discounted from $20 to $10 ( Feb 2024) due to closure of entering the lighthouse. Lovely grounds to walk on. Impressive lighthouse and the view. Great food at the cafe too.

Absolutely enjoyed my visit to this place. Was lucky to get great weather. The place is quite spread out but easily navigated on foot. And when you get thirsty and hungry there's a great cafe to check out.

Scenic location with wonderfull views. Its a good place to spend a couple of hours specially with the view of the lighhouse. We visited during the time when the tickets were half priced due to a mercury leak in the lighhouse. Also they serve great food at the cafe. Only issue is that they have limited parking spots. So you might need to roam around a bit until you find a parking spot.

Such a magical place. Australia's oldest (operational) lighthouse, namely "The Beacon of Hope".

Located on the most Southern point of Australia, where the Bass Strait & Indian Ocean meet, to form the Barge Waterway. Sits 90 metres above the beautiful ocean of Bass Strait.

Finish as many small bush walks as you can, to see different 180 degree angles of the waterways and lighthouse.

The drive there is challenging. Be sure to drive here during daylight, as it is located within Great Otway National Park; plenty of kangaroos, koalas and foxes are about (during dusk and dawn). Drive slowly around the "bendies" on The Great Ocean Road. This is a must do road trip or day trip.

You can stay in the Lightstation overnight if you wish. They offer select and minute accommodation. It frequently gets booked out, well in advance.

Be mindful. It is very windy here. Dress warm or in layered clothing.

Beautiful lighthouse. Feel very far from the great Ocean road. Few buildings that you can visit. A bit of history about the 2nd world war and the old communication system.

The lighthouse is temporarily closed because of earthquake damage. Admission is discounted to $10/person. Great historical information, views, and legendary scones.

This is one of the best places that I visited. This place is amazing, beautiful with amazing lookouts and historic architecture and buildings.

We learned and enjoyed.

Great scenery. Full price tickets are somewhat pricey. We paid half price because the lighthouse was closed due to technical reasons so the experience was worthy of the price, but would probability skip at full price.

Beautiful place with great views and a very old lighthouse! The lighthouse was really cute! You can go up to take a look but beware of the super strong winds. There is an entrance fee for this attraction and you should expect to spend about 1-3 hours here. A cafe is available inside too. It was raining a little when we were there.

Beautiful location with such an important history. Loved Grahams knowledgeable talk of the leap of faith by those who saw the beacon of hope.

We went went for this and honestly you should time your visit when there is a historical tour talk which is at about 11 am, 2 pm and 4 pm. We visited on 8 Aug 2023 and there was a fantastic guide doing the 11 am tour and he gave a really in-depth history of the nautical routes that gave rise to Cape Otway and how it helped Australia flourish to what it is today. We forgot the name of the guide but he was great! Wanted to post here to give a shout out to him. Without the context, it’s still a nice sight at the lighthouse

Only went to the lighthouse with the $19.5 entry ticket. Worth-going as the lighthouse is renewed and opened for visitors to enter, able to enjoy the view from the top of the house. Guidelines of visiting are provided in both the ticket office and lighthouse. Environments are great, everything is comfortable. Might visit again and have a overnight stay.

Me and my girlfriend came here Monday gone (25/9) on our way past for our Great Ocean Walk. We enjoyed our time there, which was enhanced by the presence of Dale, what a man. A bloke full of knowledge, and probably full of experiences too. Great storyteller, and the 20 min history talk he gave was really insightful and enjoyable. Whoever runs this place, pay Dale a little more for making history fun.
