Budji Bim is a beautiful day out for the family. We wondered to for lunch at the new restaurant and were all amazed by the delicious food & infrastructure. We then drove a short while to the caves & lake for a bush walk!

Best National Park in the area. Photos were amazing. Though the lake is dark red for some reason.

What an ancient and stunning place to visit, this is a must see when in this area.
Strolling around the 6km of rim track and exploring caves and the natural bridge together with a stunning array of wildlife in the area, it is a great way to see all of this.

The National Park is a must visit in Victoria, with the lava cave and very beautiful hikes. The hike can be very long but very beautiful and peaceful, very nice to see the lake as well. When visiting the cave make sure you have a torch on hand, the one from your phone won't work much. You can see many kangaroos in the area too.

Interesting area, lovely walk around the top but steep ascent and descent at one stage. Great view points. Caves and lava flow paths a must see

Nice road into the park, great campsites, some with fireplaces, (BYO wood)! Easy for rooftop tents and camper trailers but quite tight for vans with little manoeuvring space. Good amenities for a Nat-Park.

A wonderful family experience but probably recommend the full day tour for kids older than 12 due to some of the content . But our family of 3 with a 15 yr old boy found the day engaging and inspiring . The openness of our guide to share the history of the Gundtijmara people since colonisation became the basis of many family discussions post the tour. The landscape and the history pre colonisations are wonderful and truely eye opening to understand this amazing country and those who have been it custodians for thousands of years. The architecture of the built landscape to support the tours are stunning as is the food at the cafe.

Wow what an amazing place to visit.
The scenery is out of this world, all the old volcanic activity that has occurred here has well and truly leaves you with a sense of an alien world..
The camping grounds are clean and tidy and there are flushing toilets there and look great.. cleary a well kept secret ..
There are lots of walking tracks you can spend time exploring and Lake Surprise certainly lives up to its name.
There are lots of tracks there that are strictly for 4wd vehicles only, the couple that we went on today were very much 4×4 tracks..
Will definitely be going back to explore the area more and even take the camping gear along for a few relaxing days..
Highly recommended

Visited as part of a caving trip with the Scouts Victoria Caving team. This national park celebrates the lava fields of a dormant volcano and contains hundreds of caves and crevices both discovered and undiscovered.

The camp ground is great it requires booking and payment via Parks Victoria.

If you are considering going caving please strongly consider taking part in a formal guided tour with reputable qualified and experienced guides, caving can be dangerous and must be treated with caution.

Great facilities for camping including flushing toilets and showers. You can have fires in the fire pits and there are also great BBQ facilities. A selection of moderate to easy hikes from one to three hours.

If you are looking for a place where you can get the feel of bush camping but with basic amenities such as flushing toilet and hot shower, this is the place to go! Just be aware that it's not as busy as some other places but that's what brings the charm of this place.

It's off the tourist trail but a worthwhile place to visit just to enjoy the tranquility. With less people, there's a higher chance to spot wildlife. We saw a koala just as we parked as well as snakes(!) and a wallaby along the walking trail. The upkeep of the place leaves much to be desired though.

A beautiful, peaceful place. We did the walk around the crater rim. Great information boards at the start of the walks - well maintained. A couple of the walks were closed when we were there but this just demonstrates even more how well maintained this beautiful place is.
