Moss's Well

"Is that all it is?" is the most common comment I hear from first time vistors to the well. It is true, it is just a small concrete pipe in the ground containing water. It was obviously an important water source for the old bullock teams in its day. For the wildlife it is one of the very few almost permanent water sources in Spicers gap and attracts a huge variety of wildlife. It is mostly birds but I have seen Pademelons, reptiles and even a dingo come to drink and bathe here. Rather than stomp in, glance and walk away, take a chair and sit for a while and watch the wildlife in a beautiful setting.

Blink and you'll miss it, but from the sign it's a small 30 meter walk to a little well. Good information about it and why it was important.

When I give this a 3 star review it's not that it isn't worth coming here, but it's a small walk to see a small part of history and not much more. Lovely surroundings and there's plenty more to do around the area, such as the Govenors Chair lookout.

Just be careful with lowered cars since they will not make the unsealed road.

It changes seasonally so come back to the area for new sights
