Yummy foods. Nice hospitality. We ordered salmon with green Veggies; nice selection of veggies. Lamb cut let was fantabulous. Definitely 💯 will visit again. Hats off to 👨‍🍳 chef.

We had dinner here after our 4 day walking trek. Not a lot of other options around, but look no further as this place was great. Friendly staff and the food honestly was very high quality. It was quiet on the Monday evening, but they were open and happily looked after us. Thanks so much!

Lovely stay at the homestead. Owners where so welcoming and accommodated for our requirements. Stayed 4 nights was very comfortable, quiet good shower and lovely Cafe/ restaurant. Excellent central location to the area. And the best thing Is thr animals on site that mainly have been rescued. Fell in love with Jimmy the bird. Overall great stay.

My husband and I started our honeymoon in the Port Arthur area, and after a long day of travelling from Brisbane to Hobart, and then checking in at White Beach we were absolutely starving. We arrived on a Monday evening and were not prepared for everything to be closed and for there to be not much around. We rung Rosedale Homestead as a suggested restaurant in the compendium at our accommodation, and the lovely owner Julie (with her husband), was all too accomodating and willing to wait for us to make the 20 minute drive and cook us a late meal! We were over the moon because our dry crackers and one avocado were not going to cut it. The restaurant was warm, clean and cosy with a couch in front of the fireplace. The chef was very friendly and the meals were delicious. Home cooked style, generous portions and really tasty. We are very thankful that our journey in Tasmania started with the hospitality offered at Rosedale Homestead. We highly recommend this venue for a great meal.

I went off reviews I read online about this place. Well !! absolutely did not disappoint, gorgeous staff, welcoming,, spotlessly clean , the food was homemade locally sourced and delicious . I had the farmers tasting plate which was so well put together and really highlighted the beautiful local produce. I recommend this gorgeous spot to anyone looking for somewhere nice to go to while visiting port Arthur 😊😊😊

Beautifully presented, delicious tasting breakfast.
Sat outside and was great to watch the animals fed breakfast at the same time as us.
Staff were lovely, great coffee, yummy milkshake.

Found this place by chance at 7:30 pm, the welcoming we received was above anything we have ever received. The owners are up there with the most hospitable people we have ever met. 10/10 for this place. Hot showers, clean and friendly environment. Lots of birds and animals. Real home away from home. Also the museum, just WOW! Highly recommended this place. Cheap and definitely cheerful. Also check out Ian’s honey!

Amazing scotch fillet, pepper sauce was delicious, best I've had. Chips were cooked to perfection as well. Both garlic bread and herb breads were excellent too. Great service and a really nice venue.

I feel like this place is a hidden gem.
I've been a few times, most recently to partake in the Christmas carols event they hosted, and it was very clear then, that this place is well loved and hugely popular with locals.
The husband and wife owners are very lovely, welcoming people, as is every other staff member I have met there.
The place itself is home to many rescued animals, camels, deer, cows, pigs, many birds, etc... They all have their own fenced areas, which you can talk/interact with them through from the outside, and you are taken on an informative tour past them all, via an atv driven cart by the husband owner (and sometimes a feathered friend on his shoulder) when you arrive.
You are then free to wander around at your own pace to revisit the animals again on foot. There are bags of food available to feed certain animals also.
During the tour, we stopped outside a huge horse arena, where the wife owner was riding the most magnificent horse you will ever see! Think Fabio of the horse world, haha.
They demonstrated some amazing tricks which clearly would take many hours of training together to perfect. Really a must see, I could have watched for hours!
When you've had enough of the animals, there is also a really cool little museum inside, and a restaurant serving amazing food. You can grab a bite to go, or sit indoors or out, with a huge outdoor decking and grassed area with picnic tables also dotted around too.
Definitely a place worth stopping at for a meal and wander when en route to the Port Arthur region, or just a planned half day trip in itself. I think they've also been hosting a monthly market there too.

Excellent food and an excellent service.
I particularly liked the free-walk through 1800's museum with audio recordings on what it was like in those days.
Very well set up.
Great for animal lovers or those wanting to introduce little humans to not only farm animals but some exotic ones like camels and an ostrich.
There is also cabins (seperate to the animals) that one could stay in, I beilive these were around the $150 mark per night but best to check with the owners for accomidation prices.

We turned up late on a Wednesday in the off-season but were greeted very warmly and had a delightful dinner! Great wine and best schnitzel I've had in a while.

Stayed on the grounds in our caravan. The owners are lovely people, they made us very welcome and even gave us some fresh tuna. It has the bonus of a variety of farm animals which you can feed, including two camels. Highly recommended for a quiet private spot to stay

UPDATE 13TH APRIL 23 I BELIEVE THEY ARENT OPEN ANYMORE!

Omg, the food is fantastic! Well done chef.
Service is a delight and even with a full house you don't have to wait forever for your meals, setting is a great country feel, animals to see, good rustic accommodation with wood fire. A must visit spot on the tasman peninsula!

Big portions of decent food. The service was super lovely and friendly. Would highly highly recommend the $15 farm experience to anyone who loves animals. Definitely get the animal food as there is plenty to see and feed and pat.

Hosts are beautiful people. Clean and cosy Cabin.when the new restaurant is up and going in the next few weeks, it will be fabulous, however the meal in the little cafe was beautiful and filling, washed down with a lovely capacinno. The museum is fantastic with a wonderful collection of historical artifacts and history told very well. Wandered around the vast array of animals...unusual and colourful birds, goats, llamas, CAMELS, horses, rabbits, lots of miniature animals. Something for everyone. Bloody fantastic place.

We are staying at the Homestead for 3 nights in a caravan and can not speak highly enough of Chris and Julie and their awesome staff nothing has been too much trouble for them. We went for tea at the restaurant and again nothing but top reviews on the food and service, everything is made from scratch on site and tastes delicious, we will definitely be back again.
