A good sealed road, very rare these days. Narrow in places but thankfully we only saw one caravan and one truck going the other way.
Still a lot of dead trees around a place named, Siberia.
Several lookouts and many places to stop safely to admire the views.

Another great drive in the Kosciuszko area. Beautiful vistas. Little towns to explore. Learn about the Snowy Hydro as you travel.

108km tarmac all the way. The road is narrower and more windy at the Khancoban end, but as you reach Thredbo it becomes a huge highway of wide smooth tarmac. As you drive the road don't forget to stop to really take in the views. There are a few picnic areas and view points, but plenty more lay-bys were you can pull in and really take in the beauty of the forest and the mountains around you.

I worked in Khancoban in1959 wonderful memories of the place, and some of the most beautiful scenery of the mountains. T . Sutton.
