It was a traditional Korean fine dining restaurant that incorporated the elegance of fine dining with the simplicity of Korean cuisine.

The main dish of duck was tender, and the variation of the palette-changer dessert before the main course provided a unique experience. It is highly recommended to pair the menu with traditional Korean liquors that are also available for sale.

The staff were friendly, and the food quality was excellent. This is a perfect place to spend time with a loved one on a special occasion. If you are visiting Sydney, it's worth stopping by at least once.

An innovative and contemporary re-make of delicious Korean degustation.

There are undoubtedly many fantastic Korean restaurants in Sydney, from barbecues to jigae (soup) places, but nothing as unique as Jung Sung.

The degustation menu is dictated by the seasons, and the chef strive to create innovative food bursting with traditional Korean flavours. I was completely blown away by the amount of thoughts put into menu design, cooking techniques, and the end presentation of the courses. Every single course has its own merit, the flavours and ingredients are well-balanced, together create a wholesome and plentiful dining experience.

My favourite would be the beef/steak main and the signature sweet caramel corn. But the menu does change frequently, and the main I had is no longer offered. Would definitely go back and try their new menu.

First of all, wow. The service is incredible. I don't usually have dietary restrictions but now, I can't eat raw foods, and the staff and chef kindly made sure every dish was cooked through and even swapped the sashimi for this amazing bibimbap! All the dishes tasted delicious, we were especially blown away by the mains (husband ordered the wagyu and I ordered the duck). I'm so glad we ordered two sweet corn desserts as I would not have wanted to share, they were that good! After I raved about our dinner to my parents, they immediately booked to go in a couple of days. Thank you again for being so accommodating and we will definitely be back!

This ain't no KFC!
Atop a cluster of wonderful restaurants sits this relative newcomer. The space is minimalist with mainly dark tones. There is a rather large bar on one side and in warmer weather one might enjoy the option of outdoor dining. The food is top notch, there was no stand out but the flavours were uniformally solid and the presentation beautiful in the best of Asian traditions. The service was warm, attentive and friendly. The cocktails are very nice but make sure you try some of their better Soju, they are really different to the bog standard stuff. The prices are absolutely reasonable given the quality of the overall experience.

Amazing food! One of the best places I’ve been to in Sydney. Each savoury dish was delicious and unique in its own way. Would 100% go again.

The corn was average and worth a skip.

This was a pre-booked dinner back in May 2022, in preparation for my Sydney trip this October which was thoroughly enjoyed last night with a couple of friends.
We opted for the 6 Course Spring Menu at 5:30pm. To access the restaurant, take the lift or stairs to Level 3 from The Old Rum Store. Unisex toilet on Level 1 next to the lift.

The staff were very friendly and attentive. Our water was consistently topped up without request. Instrumental tunes of BTS playing in the background, dimmed atmosphere setting and it wasn't too noisy from the other patrons. We were positively surprised at each course or rather "Oh, that was unexpected!" where the flavours were clean and refreshing. I will be coming back to try the other seasonal menus. Absolutely delicious.

Jung Sung exceeded all expectations with their Korean contemporary cuisine. From the moment we entered, the staff's attentiveness and professionalism added to the impeccable dining experience. The flavors were exquisite, and the overall experience unforgettable. A must-visit for food enthusiasts! Additionally, the highlight of the night was Buckwheat noodle.

Absolutely loved the food! One of the best degustations I have had in Sydney. The presentation was beautiful, the flavours were amazing and the staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and delivered excellent customer service. Convenient location near the Old Clare Hotel & Spice Alley. We can't wait to go back and take friends there too. Highly recommended.

I hover between a 4 and 5 here. The food was interesting. Pretty well presented. Service by the manager guy was very good. The waitress could improve with a bit more warmth. The seating would be nicer padded and more comfortable especially if one was to be there for a degustation dinner. It's more a casual contemporary sort of fit out. Pushed it up to the 5 star as I liked how they have a kids menu which is nice.

Absolutely exceptional dining that showcases Korean food in a fresh and original way. We had the six course menu—waygu beef, two way Moreton Bugs and the Grape desert were stand-outs. The service was excellent and the cocktails were tasty. The only downfall was the interior—it felt unfinished and not matching the quality of the food. But this if more of a comment for the restaurant rather than potential customers, don’t let that stop you as it’s too delicious to miss out on

We got the 6 course menu which was great. The scallop, ocean trout, Moreton bay bug, crispy pork belly and desserts were fantastic. The bibimap and fish were pretty plain. The milk they use for the corn dessert is lactose free rather than completely non dairy. This can be problematic for people with casein intolerance rather than just lactose intolerance. They do use gluten free soy sauce by default and in general do well to accommodate dietary requirements! The vibe of this place is also good however it would suit jazz music rather than 80’s music (though I love 80’s music). Lastly, it would be awesome if they composted their food waste!

Great romantic dinner location, we had the four course menu and loved every dish. The Spanish mackerel was our favourite, so warm and comforting as a dish.

We had the Soju flight but didn't think it was too much of a standout, the cocktails look nice though so would try them next time.

Wait staff were lovely, we asked for one of us to be dairy free and they accommodated very well. Will definitely come back!

This is the first time I ever approached Korean cuisine this way. Contemporary style but still maintains the original flavour. The size of the degustation menu is just wow, we had to rolling our way out after the meal, which is not very frequently seen as these type of restaurants.
Staffs were very lovely and attentive.
It’s just the lighting was too dark and room temp bit low that overwhelmed us.

Went for dinner on Valentine’s day. Got the $88 course, all dishes were creative and had a good twist. From amuse bouche to dessert, it was such an amazing journey great job! They had a wide range of drink selection however, it could’ve been better if they had pairing wine / other drinks with the course. Very glad a Korean fine dining has opened in Sydney. Hoping it becomes the best restaurant like the one in New York and Looking forward to going back in the close future.

What a great experience! Came here to celebrate a birthday and it was great. One of the better degustation menus in Sydney. We went for the 6 course, however if you consider the complimentaty appetisers in the beginning, it really was a 7 course. For a degustation menu, the portion size was quite good, both my partner and I were feeling full afterwards.

Had a lovely time at Jung Sung. The food was a great take on modern Korean food. Fresh, delicious, balanced and unique! I upgraded for the wagyu and it was absolutely melt in your mouth. Have it on its on or wrapped with banchan and it was great either way. The corn dessert is also a must try. They were running a 2 for 1 cocktail special and they were all delicious as well. Great service and I'd definitely be back!

My partner and I went to Jung Sung to celebrate her birthday. We had the 6 course dinner with wine matching and the addition of truffles. Each course was well portioned and carefully put together with the Kingfish, Moreton Bay Bug and the Pork being the highlights. Service was excellent and the discrete birthday message on the dessert was a nice touch. I would highly recommend if you are celebrating a special occasion

Highly recommended.
5 stars for food
4 stars for service
4 stars for atmosphere

I was very impressed how they beautifully twist Korean food with contemporary touch. As being Korean, I could notice Korean ingredient from each dishes, great harmony with other ingredients. It’s well made with beautiful presentation. I loved bay bug, blue eyed cod with radish and wagyu the most. Their wagyu is super tender with very well made beef jus. I loved every sauce coming with the dish. I’d like to give 10 stars for food!

In terms of service, the management needs to work on improving their service standards to be called fine dining. I informed the restaurant that my friend has allergic to honey and avovado when I made a booking. However, it seems like it did not pass to the floor team. So we had to inform them again. Also, a waitress topped up glass with still water which was filled with sparkling. But, in overall, all waitresses were very attentive and helpful. And my friend got yuzu sorbet instead of honey comb dessert. The sorbet was very refreshing and tasty.

It is a bit noisy even though there was a limited number of people. They’d better turn down music or working on creating less noisy atmosphere. I notice they have dining area outside. I’m looking forward to dining there in coming summer or sooner.

Absolutely wonderful for everything, including service, food and drink.
So we got 6 courses with matching wine.
The paring with each other is good, especially for desert.
We had a complimentary for cocktails since I have to cancelled the first booking due to Covid.
For me, the best dishes are tuna, bug and desert.
The atmosphere is gentle, romantic, and too noisy so I recommend this restaurant for couple
